Live music , great food and service .
Food was good, drinks were delicious I tried the cucumber jalapeño margaritas 🤩 it was really refreshing. The atmosphere was great they had a live singer who sang classics, he wasn't disruptive at all it just improved the vibe. Overall ....
Mango ceviche was amazing
Awesome food and drinks! Our favorite Mexican spot in the area! Great place to go before or after the movies next door!
I was really disappointed with my experience at Sol . I ordered the vegetarian sweet potato tacos and honestly didn’t enjoy them at all bland and lacking flavor. While the server was polite, the service was painfully slow. They also didn’t return the correct change after I paid, which was frustrating and unprofessional. Overall, not worth the hassle.
I’ve been here a couple of times because I like the location, ambience and service, but the food is inconsistent. Last time I ordered the street tacos, the asada was great, the chicken bland. When I went back I decided to Asada is the right choice given my earlier experience; not so. Sadly the asada was bland this time.
Their new manager, Tori, our awesome waiter and the other staff were absolutely anwsome! They were attentive, positive and had us smiling and laughing. It was a great day celebrating a special occasion one our a “Girls Day” with delicious food and good drinks, thank you so much! Thank you so much this the special attention! We will be back !
Great for a large group. The restaurant was very accommodating and the staff was excellent! Esquite was delicious. All the cocktails were fantastic. Food was delivered quickly even with a group of 12 of us.
It was our first time here. Our daughter recommended because she came here once before and liked it. Without going into great detail, our food took forever to get. One entree was wrong. The food we got wasn't hot, the crispy onions on the tacos were stale and it took over 35 minutes to get the correct entree served and it wasn't worth the wait. The only reason we didn't give a lower rating is because our server was lovely and she did comp the two appetizers and gave us a $10 gift card to try to make up for the mistakes. We probably will not be using that gift card anytime soon.
Food quality was poor at this one .. I won't be back. I'll stick with the New Port Beach location...

SOL Mexican Cocina in Playa Vista is a lively, Baja-inspired Mexican spot with solid tacos, great cocktails, and a fun, upscale-casual vibe. The outdoor patio with fire pits and live music on some nights makes it perfect for groups or date nights. Prices are on the higher side, but most say it's worth it for the quality and atmosphere. Just know it's more “Westside trendy” than hole-in-the-wall authentic. Live music is a nice touch.
Fantastic experience! Pedro's service was outstanding! Always a great time at Sol Mexican Cocina!
We came to Sol in Playa Vista for Cinco de Mayo and had an amazing time. Yes, it was busy (as expected), but the energy was great—live music from a one-man band added the perfect vibe to the patio. Huge shoutout to Jose, our server, who didn't miss a beat. Friendly, fast, and on top of everything. Great food, great drinks, great atmosphere. Already looking forward to our next visit.
Very crowded but lively and welcoming. Seated promptly thanks to our Open Table reservation - table was perfect - outdoors under heater. Hostess was amazing. Food and drinks were excellent. Thank you for an awesome experience!
I made reservations at 5:30pm for patio booth seating and arrived early, only to be seated 15 minutes late. What added insult to injury was that other walk-up patrons were being being seated immediately with same size party. I was told that they only had one person busing tables that evening my table needed more time. Hmmm... After being seated, my guest and I BOTH individually recognized that the chips served as appetizers were stale. Even the second and third try were the same (stale) but the manager graciously brought out some freshly made tortillas chips, only after we started eating our meal. I was grateful, though, that he did not charge us for our menu'd appetizer. Expected to be a noisy atmosphere on their patio, nothing was any different this evening. It was loud! Would I come back? Hmmmm, yes, because of its ambiance and locale. But it'll be a while, since I have get this experience out of my system.
