This bakery ruined the gender reveal of my first baby, what was supposed to be one of the most special moments of my life. I emailed the manger and made sure we were on the same page and my request was doable... sending pictures of exactly what I wanted the inside and outside of the cake to look like. I made sure to explain myself very clear in person in the store and they took the gender envelope from my doctor. I had my gender results several days before in my portal, but I waited to look because I wanted this moment to be special instead of just looking at my phone. It took forever to get my OB to print the envelope but I finally got it and took it straight to the bakery. They told me the cake would be white on the outside and vanilla with the gender color frosting inside. When my husband and I cut into it, it was funfetti cake (rainbow color) with white frosting only on the inside and outside. They remade my cake the next day but my husband was on call and there was a chance we couldn't cut into it for another week, so we just looked at the envelope ourselves. Thank you for taking this moment away from me. I had my wedding cupcakes done here too and will never spend another dollar at this company. Truly the worst mistake they could have made. Every time I think about my gender reveal I get sad.

Batter N Icing makes the BEST gluten free cupcakes. Anytime I’m in the area I have to swing by and get one! Cupcakes are sweet, moist, and generously sized. Also, I love their frosting. It is sorta artificial tasting but in a good way! Reminds me of Crumbl Cookie frosting. So delish. Staff is always nice too :)

I bought three cupcakes here for my birthday. We tried all three and I was really disappointed with all of them. The flavors didn’t really come through and the frosting was way too sweet and also tasted like it’s made with shortening or something. The actually cake part was ok (but again, not flavorful).

Simply the most delicious and beautifully crafted cupcakes I’ve ever tried! The variety is amazing, and they even offer gluten-free options if needed. The staff is super friendly and welcoming, making the experience even better. Plenty of free parking, which is a huge plus.
This is definitely the go-to place for custom birthday cakes and cupcakes. Highly recommend!

Nothing special. Got the lemon drop cupcake and no lemon flavor at all. They said it has lemon curd in it, but was a drop of artificial yellow jelly. The buttercream was as bad as a grocery store, definitely not made with good ingredients, sugar wasnt dissolved either. Sorry, but for the price I wanted yummy cupcake .

Batter 'N Icing is the go-to place for delicious cup-cakes in the East Bay! They have a wonderful variety of flavors and are beautifully decorated (fun seasonal themes available). Not only do they look good but they taste even better! The cake is moist and the frosting is flavorful but not too heavy. A special treat served up by a friendly staff in a bright and cheery store.
Preorder mini Halloween cupcakes at $35 per dozen and we ordered 2 dozen. And they have no bags to bag them up so as we were leaving one of the top boxes shifted, and we lost gripping of it and so the cupcakes shifted all over the box asked them if they could fix the decorations. They told us they could fix it but they would charge us $35 more Just to redecorate. Absolute horrendous customer service. Especially for someone that is a frequent customer. It makes me rethink if I ever wanna go there again. The explanation for the cost was that they would have have to pay their decorator overtime to fix them. Why would you tell a customer that!

Really, really disappointing. Cupcake weren't decorated as promised, the flavors were wrong and the taste of the icing was as if it was synthetic. We ordered 30 black and white cupcakes: vanilla and chocolate. Vanilla cake with chocolate icing and chocolate cake with vanilla icing. The icing was supposed to be a smooth topping over the cupcake with a pretty little flower in the opposite color. They did NOT ice the top of the cupcake as promised (or as they showed us in their sample book) and instead put a huge, glob-like flower on top that was quite amorphous. Additionally, the black icing that was supposed to be chocolate WASN"T even chocolate. It tasted like vanilla with some sort of synthetic, chemical tasting dye to make it dark. Sadly, this is my 2nd customer order with Batter N' Icing and my 2nd disappointment. After the first they apologized and admitted their error. I wanted to give them a 2nd chance but that was my mistake. Next time I'll go with the tried and true that never disappoints: Nothing Bundt Cakes or Susie Cakes.

If I could give Batter 'N Icing more than 5 stars, I absolutely would! Not only have they become my favorite go-to for cupcakes, but I was referred to the company to help with my wedding cake. From the initial inquiry email all the way to the final drop off at the vendor, Nisha went gone above and beyond to ensure that my cake and dessert bar was perfect and she delivered everything in a timely manner. Honestly, it was more than what I could ask for. She was so easy to talk to, both email and in person. She treats all her customers as equals, not like some vendors where the moment you say "wedding" and the vendor charge 3x more. She was very transparent about her pricing and there were no hidden fees which I appreciated. Her ability to turn your vision into reality is something else, and I loved how we were able to bounce ideas off one another. Everyone LOVED the cake and desserts. So much, that I didn't even get to have any of my desserts because everyone else ate them all!! The cake was so moist and the cupcakes were a huge hit with the choice of flavors (I was told that the peach cobbler was a favorite!). Now that the wedding is over, I still come to the Pleasant Hill location to enjoy a cupcake or two because there's no doubt that Nisha and her team do a fantastic job. Their customer service is top notch and I promise you that you will not be disappointed.
