It's kind of sad and depressing to keep finding out so many restaurants have permanently closed during this pandemic. Lately, I've been trying to catch-up on my backlog of reviews, and I probably have two years worth of them on my list. So here's my two cents about this place based on my experience last year. I was hiking solo at Briones Regional Park early on a sunny Monday and searched places to grab lunch after my hike. This place popped up and was initially confused by the name. Ramen and Japanese being served with a name like Fat Baguette Lounge didn't compute well in my brain. But read the reviews and I was sold. Upon arrival, I was greeted very kindly by a nice, lovely lady. She almost made me feel like I was her grandson by the way she was taking care of me. She made me tingle all over and I was enamored by her genuine care and service. Yeah, you can say service was top notch and it did not felt forced. I got the House Special Ramen, which was a Tokutsu based broth. They also had Miso and Shoyo based broths. It came with pork chashu, corn, soft boiled egg and shrimp. I've never had shrimp before with my Ramen, no...not even Tempura, so this was exciting to me. The broth was gentle, light and milky. The shrimp and chashu pork were a nice combination, and the soft boiled egg was perfectly cooked. It was a delicious bowl of Ramen that I truly enjoyed. But it was more than my tummy that was filled that day, the grandma that was working there also filled my heart with joy.

I walked by this spot today...contemplated gyoza...and saw this...Eviction notice on the door.I guess gyoza is not in the cards today.

Had a get together with friends and family at this luxurious karaoke place and their pricing was very reasonable. They have some killer appetizers such as shrimp tempura, edamame and baked mussels. Highly recommend this place!

I wonder if this restaurant will stay in business much longer.I came for lunch last week and I was THE ONLY PATRON. My soup was fine, three stars, same as my last visit. But they were CROWDED the last time I came!I don't think they ever actually served sandwiches here, either.... And they've crossed out "sandwiches" from their menu. Literally took a black marker and crossed off the front of the menu.I don't think anyone hears of a restaurant with "baguette" in their name and thinks of ramen and sushi, and not sandwiches!I don't know what's going on with this place...!

My wife and I decided to check out Fat Baguette about a week ago. The place is really large and looks more like a bar/club than a restaurant. When we walked in (around 6 pm on a Friday), the place was basically deserted. There was only one other group of people eating at one of the tables. While this didn't seem like a good sign for the restaurant, it was fortunate for us as our baby was pretty fussy during dinner, so it was good that we didn't disturb anyone else's meal. We ordered the House Special Ramen (tonkatsu soup base) and the Chicken Udon. We also had the Chef's special appetizer which was spicy edamame. While we were waiting for the noodle soups, we nibbled on the edamame which was outstanding. Tossing the edamame in a garlic chili oil was such a simple and excellent way to jazz up the dish. We will definitely try this with our edamame at home. The ramen and the udon were both really great too. The udon noodles were thick, chewy, and absorbed all of the flavor from the broth which had the exact right amount of spice. I actually thought the broth for the udon noodles was better than the tonkatsu broth for the ramen, which was not quite as rich as I would have liked. That being said, I was really in the mood for ramen, so the dish really hit the spot. The pork belly was really tender and flavorful, and all of the other ingredients were just fine. Overall, we really enjoyed our food and the experience. We will definitely be back soon.

I do not understand how this place has 4 star rating... We came to eat ramen since it has pretty good rating and reviews but it was very very disappointing, the soup had no flavor at all. I was pouring the chili pepper and soy sauce in it to try to save it but it did not helped. Felt like I was eating the ramen noodles dipped in water... We left more than half of it, paid and left. Will not come back. Also they did not have any sushi available, no reason given just that there was none... would be nice if they specify it in their menu if they only have it certain days...The only okay thing we had there were the potstickers which were like mini postickers like the size of a thumb pretty much.

Based on the name I thought this was a French restaurant and it's somewhat hidden so glad I found this gem on yelp! It's huge! It's has a dining area with tables, a lounge to chill, pool tables and private karaoke rooms. Who would've thought?!? Came here for the Ramen and it did not disappoint. The unagi ramen was delish, but didn't realize that medium spicy was what I'd consider spicy. That chili oil definitely made me cough also tried the beef udon which was good. Broth was on the sweeter end (nearly like an onion soup- it had a ton of onions which would be a bit much for me). Others had California rolls as an appetizer which was a good amount and the bento box also looked good. Will be back to try different ramen! The only complaint I have is the service. There was only one other table and regardless service was slow/nonexistent. After we received food nobody ever came back. They didn't refill water, ask whether food is ok, we had to go to counter to get check and to drop off check...

Great place to hang out, (check the pictures)... However, on a Saturday night the place was empty. I more than suspect it's because they don't have a liquor license yet. The ramen was good, but fair warning, the spicy ramen is SPICY with lots of chili oil

We kept hearing about Fat Baguette Lounge and finally gave it a try on a recent rainy evening. It was a bit early for dinner, but other than one man who was picking up an order, we were the only customers.I am assuming, however, that this place must be busy on weekends with its karaoke rooms and billiard tables. Very large establishment with lots of options for seating. We were in the smaller room to the left of the entry way.Apparently, they don't have a liquor license so the name "lounge" seems a bit odd. The large seating area, which is between the smaller dining room and the billiard tables, looks ideal for cocktails. It has many small "leather" couches facing low tables. DH opted for Beef Ramen ... very large bowl and very spicy. I had the Bento Box with a teriyaki chicken, rice, green salad, and a California roll. Not a fan of the latter, but the rest of the food in the Bento box was quite good. The miso soup was more flavorful than most I have tried ... except it was lukewarm. Our tea was also lukewarm. We were not offered more tea until our check came. It also took a long time for the check. In fact, I had to search out our server. Really felt forgotten. However, as we were leaving she did take a few minutes to show us the karaoke rooms. Nice set up.Glad we tried this restaurant, not sure we will return. However, if karaoke or billiards are your thing, then give it a try. But beware: the website is in need of updating. Needs more information on the menu items.

Because I've been craving ramen, a search through yelp brought me to this place. This place is in an inconspicuous shopping center in Pleasant Hill, so it might be a little hard to find. First off, the place is pretty big and it wasn't packed at all. When I went for dinner it was my group of friends and probably two other parties in there. From here I ordered the Unagi ramen, which i found to be tastey, I personally really like unagi so I was sold right when I read the name. Broth is good and noodles still had a bite, I wouldn't really say anything stood out over other ramen places, for me, but nonetheless good spot. Also, this place has pool tables and kareoke rooms that you can rent by the hour, so it would be a nice spot to go to if you and some friends just wanted a one shot spot to eat and hang out. Would come back when I have another ramen craving.

Pretty darn good. Nothing exceptional. Nothing that stands out completely. Just good, wholesome bowls of deliciousness. They have different broths (shoyu, miso, tonkatsu) for the Ramen, some good Udon choices including Yaki (no soup)My family all got their own House special Ramen, each with different broths (tonkatsu, shoyu, and spicy) and all tasted great. Noodles were done nicely, and great depth to the broth. Chashu was good, and the egg for no charge is something I really appreciate. We also got the mussels for appetizer. Not amazing, tasted exactly like the cheese/mayo mussels you get at the Asian Buffets. Wasn't bad though, but probably would not order it again... will have to try the potstickers though. All in all, a great go to. We went on a rainy evening, on the Eve of Christmas Eve (12/23/18) and it was empty sans one other table. I've heard it gets busy during peak lunch hours... will have to consult other reviews to confirm this.

I was excited about trying this new place, but it was not what I expected. 1.) When you walk in, it's so confusing. The interior is all over the place. 2.) They still have no alcohol license. 3.) The menu is false. The descriptions of the ramen don't match with the picture or with that you actually get in your ramen. Also, I've had better ramen. 4.) On the way to the women's bathroom, there was lots of construction tools. One of those tools was a saw. Ummmm wtf? A child can easily cut their finger. Just all around weird. One thing I did enjoy was the stir fry udon.

I'm very thankful for the opening of this place. There is finally a ramen place that is affordable and good quality that also serves a handful of appetizers and sushi rolls. The House Special Ramen has 1 perfectly soft-boiled egg, 3 pieces of char siu, corn, seaweed, and the works. The soup broth (tonkatsu, miso, or shoyu) were good in flavor - not too light or watery but not too overpowering. The noodles were firm enough where it had a bite. Perfectly al dente. My favorite would probably be the Unagi Ramen. I asked for Unagi on the side, which came with 5 slices of unagi. If you want pork or egg, you could add it for an additional charge. The sushi rolls were very nice to complement the ramen. All in all, this will be a great go-to place to get your ramen fix.
