Made a reservation through Google and drive an hour to get here to find that they apparently they didn’t record it. Now I’m in this city and everywhere else is super busy, and they wouldn’t accommodate me.

I almost didn't want to post this review because I wanna keep Jo's all to ourselves but we want them to be successful Jo's is our regular sushi place. We order from here on a weekly basis and they've never let us down. Food is great, and they don't use any of the fake crab stuff. (Try " Jo's eyeballs", those are wonderful! )

Struggled a bit with how to review this here. On one hand, the quality of the fish is clearly head and shoulders above your average sushi restaurant. It's outstanding quality. On the other hand, the prices definitely reflect it. It's like $9.95 for a regular little tekka roll, for example, compared to like $5-7 anywhere else. I wish I had been better warned ahead of time; Yelp's "$$" price guide is DEFINITELY wrong. They've taken the "combination dinners" off the menu, which they have a sign about ("due to short-staffing") as well as apparently all the teriyaki and similar grilled entrees (which there is no sign about). I also wouldn't recommend the tempura- Yelp photos showing the fluffy panko style are now out of date and they're now using the heavier like carnival-fried-food style. Updated photo attached. TL;DR: stick with the fish, probably special occasions only or when you want to impress an out-of-town guest.

My wife and I started coming here several years ago. She read several great reviews on yelp for Jo’s Sushi Bar now it’s our favorite go to.It’s nice that they were able to find a way to stay open during the pandemic so our favorite sushi place didn’t close down.

A friend recommended Jo's to me. She had said the food is amazing. My friend was spot on. The sushi is so fresh it tastes like it just came out of the ocean. The plates are beautiful, artistically put together. The service was great, the food came out within minutes of being ordered. Everyone is friendly and efficient. I am looking forward to eating here again.

I've been a loyal customer for 21 years. 9/17/2021 at 5:10 PM, there were 2 small tables in door. Outdoor was empty. The new waitress told us we can sit any table outside. So, we picked a 4 seats table. The new waitress said she need to ask the Sr. Waitress because she just started the new job. The Sr. Waitress, a Japanese lady, we knew her since she was a girl, asked us how many people? I told her two. Of course two, we've been there 21 years since 2000 in the previous place. But she seems like we are strangers. I told her, she knew, we always ordered a lot of food and small table will not big enough. She finally approved us to sit in a 4 people table. Since Covid, they stopped serving combo benton box. Now, they still don't have combo. Their shrimp tempura was the best in the area. It seems like they changed the chef for tempura. Shrimp was not fresh. Tempura was over fried. About 5:30 PM, one customer came in and sit on the 4 people table. He only ordered one plate of food. We ordered full table more than $100 of food! There are many new Japanese restaurants around the area. Sorry my old friend Jo. Because your Sr. Waitress ruined your restaurant's reputation, I don't want to go to your restaurant anymore.

We love Jo's Sushi. My wife took me to the old location years ago and it's still as good as we remembered it. We live in South Lake Tahoe now (home to great sushi: The Naked Fish, Samurai and Off the Hook) but were in the Bay due to the fire and went to Jo's to celebrate our 13 year anniversary. They remembered us and treated us so well even though we hadn't been back in 7 years! Impressive. The sushi was amazing (Volcano roll is a must) and the service was kind and efficient. Please support this local gem!

Met up with my friends for dinner at Jo's Sushi. This was my first time here and really enjoyed their outdoor seating and of course, their food! We ordered the maguro, hamachi, sake nigiri, Volcano Roll, Rock 'n Roll, and Bubba Gump Roll. Everything was fresh and delish, and customer service was friendly and attentive! Would recommend checking Jo's Sushi out if you're in the area and craving some yummy sushi!

Finally was able to have dinner Saturday 8/14 w/o Appointment in which I forgot BC of Pandemic, I was there Friday exactly 8pm wasn't aware of the cut off hrs. but happily came back Sat. & experienced the freshness of sashimi . My friend recommend me this place BC of the authentic Japanese preparation of the food and it's only opened @ Tue/Fri 5-8 pm open on Saturday too MUST MAKE RESERVATION and double check the hours with them CLOSED ON SUNDAY & MONDAY NO LUNCH , they have outdoor & Lmtd. indoor capacity . Amazing sushi! It is so hard to find a Japanese restaurant owned by Japanese outside of Sf/Oakland/San Jose but this one doesn't disappoint. Even the waitstaff speaks Japanese. Their homemade gyoza are yummy! Can't wait to come back for more

I got outdoor dining yesterday, i was pretty excited to try this place tbh because i knew that here is under the Japanese owner's sushi spot. and when i checked up the menu they have various fishes of nigiri. But, i just got 8PCS OF NIGIRI and hot sake total It cost $81.99 WAY TOO OVER PRICE Even the server didn't know the price of special nigiri When i asked her how much is Anago nigiri she said that she doesn't know she need to ask the price to chef. However i didn't hear the answer i just realized the price when i received a check. Don't get me wrong Anago nigiri's flavor was alright it just way too smaller than what i used to have anago nigiri before.. I was waiting 25mins to get 8pcs of nigiri after i ordered Also, it's wan't happy experience from that place Because way too over price and wait so long time service was not that good either server was too hurry so i left $5 tip but they took $16.33 tip away I don't know how they do that..
