We stopped here for breakfast based on the great reviews. This is a small, no frills place. Our server was nice and food came relatively quickly. My hubs ordered a basic breakfast with bacon and eggs. His first choice was linguica but they were out so bacon it is. I could tell the bacon seemed fatty and was not crispy at all. I ordered the eggs Benedict. I couldn't really taste it since the sauce covered the entire thing. Unfortunately the sauce did not have much flavor to it and it overwhelmed my entire dish. The hash browns were nice and crispy. Overall it was okay, I'm not sure why the reviews were so high, I was left underwhelmed and will not be coming back unfortunately.

While visiting again to NorCal, I was wanting some buckwheat pancakes, so I used Yelp and found this cafe tucked in the corner of an outdoor plaza. I agree with the Yelper who mentioned the place could definitely use some work on appearance. I thought it was especially true of the restroom which was tiny, left open!, and tucked right next to the kitchen and service area. My peek at "behind the scene" was off-putting, but it was raining and I stayed to try the pancakes. They were good: big and hearty ($9 for two). I also had a side of chicken apple sausage ($6-very pricey for one) and ok coffee ($3.50). It was a mid week morning, the place wasn't busy and the waitress was very pleasant and helpful.

This is one of my husband and mine's favorite breakfast restaurants. It is cozy, the staff is friendly and treat you like family, and the food is absolutely wonderful. The portion sizes are huge, and it's always tasty. Better than homemade. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Had breakfast Sunday morning with family. Ordered the french toast with warm berries, strawberries, blueberries and blackberries...with a dollop of marscapone and two pieces of thick cut bacon...second order of eggs with waffle and bacon...coffee was good ...the service was stellar..the french toast was amazing... Sorry no pictures.. I look forward to my next trip up north to enjoy another great breakfast.

We stopped here Weds at 11am for a quick bite. My friend's sausage & egg breakfast looked good, he enjoyed it with the exception of the hash browns which were mushy & tasted like they had been sitting on the grill too long. I ordered an early lunch. My salad and half BLT combo was not up to expectations. The bacon was old and cold, definitely not cooked fresh that day; tough as jerky & off-tasting placed on stale tasteless bread. Should have sent it back. The side green salad ingredients, especially the beets, were off tasting. New menu, higher prices - the Shrimp Salad sandwich is now a whopping $19, and the quality for this item has gone down too, less shrimp with more mayo. This used to be the place to go when you wanted super fresh, quality ingredients at a good value. No more. Will stick to the occasional weekend breakfast here from now on.

Excellent breakfast! Perfect eggs, light and fluffy pancakes with rich 'n buttery syrup, and unique "HASHED" browns that are like something you'd remember from a North Carolina country kitchen. Our server was so welcoming and helpful, and the food arrived fast and hot. Five stars!

The server was very attentive and personable. I was having an issue with a recurring cough from bronchitis and she personally suggested remedies for a cough. The food was good and the service was great. Very homey atmosphere.

OJ stunk. Excruciating eggs. One of the chefs had staring problem. Wouldn't recommend respectfully. However the shrimp Benedict was delectable ain't gone lie .

this restaurant is surviving off of it's long time reputation..Atmosphere is gloomy..Very cold.foil hanging down from the ceiling cooler..Desperately needs remodeling..I ordered Linguisa and eggs..Eggs were not over easy..The hash browns looked like fried mashed potato's..Sourdough bread looked like a modified white bread..Very dissapointing..I ate there 4 days a week for over 20 years..

Went there with no expectations and left very happy. Everything on the breakfast menu looked great and the pancakes, bacon, eggs and hash browns were outstanding. Will be going back again for the excellent food and service.
