Food and ambience was good but rated lower due to service. Our server was tentative to all the tables except for ours. Waited 40mins until I had to flag our service to take our order. He was not even apologetic about it. But other staffs were great.
The food was wonderful! I had the filet minion souvlaki and my husband had lamb shanks. Highly recommend both. The service was great.
Been here several times and our experience has always been top notch. We love Saganaki but this time it wasn't as good as usual. There was too much liquid that didn't burn off to crisp the cheese. The spanakopita was pepper forward and caught us off guard. The good news was that everything else was amazing from the cocktails, the other appetizers (tatziki, octopus) and entrees (paella, bucatini and seabass). Service was excellent. Ambience was energetic.
I made reservations two weeks in advance for a Tuesday evening at 5:30 PM for six senior citizens requesting a quiet table; they assured me that we would have one. When we arrived, the place was already getting busy and they told us there would be no quiet table inside and suggested we sit outside when the temperature is in the 50's. We declined and were seated and endured such a cacophony of noise the precluded reason conversation. We had good food and service but the experience was horrible. They should have called me ahead of the reservation time so I could adjust. They didn't. Call me disappointed!
Lovely lunch on a holiday afternoon. Delicious, creative food, excellent service, beautiful ambience. Worth your time and money!
Food was excellent as always. We sat inside and it was very noisy. Have been several times and always sat outside- That is where we will be next time!
Here during holiday season and loved the festive decor. Great ambiance in side the restaurant. Modern and spacious. From host to waiter and servers, the service was efficient and friendly. The food was very good too. Great flavors, not overly salty, lovely presentation. It was my first time here and I would definitely go back.
Highly recommend. Excellent menu and authentic Greek food. Good size portions so excellent value. Would return often if it weren't such a distance from north Bay.
We all really loved our meals and shared a lot of appetizers too. Several are making plans to come back again. People were raving about the place; there were 8 of us! I had the filet mignon souvlaki, also really enjoyed the avgolemono soup. The riblets were good as well. I had a taste of the chicken souvlaki and that was very tender and tasty. I didn't try everything but everyone left happy and we stayed much longer than usual.
Visited on a Saturday night for a birthday dinner with a large group. It was cold and raining, and we were seated outside on the covered patio — the staff went above and beyond to make sure we were warm, even bringing cozy blankets for everyone!!
Service was excellent! They cut and served the birthday cake for us, which was a nice touch. The flaming cheese appetizer (Saganaki) is a must-try — fun and flavorful. I had the filet mignon souvlaki, which was tender and delicious, and the roasted veggies on the side were delicious!
Great food, thoughtful service, and a memorable night despite the weather.

We went to Elia in Pleasanton for a ladies' night out, and honestly the ambiance was the highlight of the evening—that's really what drew us in. Unfortunately, the food didn't live up to the setting. The fish we ordered, which was the special of the day, tasted very fishy and wasn't fresh. For the prices they charge, we expected much better. The service was good, but nothing exceptional. Overall, it felt overpriced for the quality of the meal. The atmosphere is beautiful, but the food needs to match it.
The restaurant is so pretty and their food is so good. Everything from the appetizer to the soup to the main course was just exceptional and the service was fantastic.
Elia is hands-down one of Pleasanton's finest dining experiences. I've been fortunate enough to visit multiple times, and I can confidently say I have never been disappointed. The restaurant provides a truly outstanding meal from start to finish.
The journey begins with a fantastic variety of appetizers, which are always fresh and perfectly prepared. But the culinary experience only gets better. Both the main courses and the desserts are exceptionally good.
Must-Try Dishes
If you visit, these dishes are an absolute must-try—they showcase the kitchen's skill:
• Lamb Chops: Tender and perfectly seasoned.
• Moussaka: Rich, comforting, and authentic.
• Lobster Paella: A luxurious and flavorful main course.
• Whole Branzino: Flawlessly prepared and a beautiful presentation.
• Ceviche: A refreshing and bright starter.
Beyond the food, the atmosphere is simply lovely. Elia offers a nice ambience with comfortable options for seating both inside and outside. To top it all off, their selection of creative cocktails is inventive and pairs perfectly with the Mediterranean flavors.
If you are looking for excellent food, great service, and a wonderful setting in Pleasanton, you need to dine at Elia. Highly, highly recommended!

The ambience was really nice. I felt like I was in Greece. Service was good, we were allowed to enter and seat on our table even if we were still waiting for our party to be completed. Food was fantastic, we ordered pikalia with 3 spreads which were perfect to my taste. The special roasted chicken with veggies were flavorful as well as the bucatini and the seafood paella was not salty. I would recommend others to visit Elia.
