Best sushi in town must try love on first taste

The hardest part of moving away from Pleasanton was leaving Sushi Hanabi. I still make a three hour drive to come back and eat here because it is that good. Highly highly recommend the Soju roll and Victoria’s Secret roll, but you really can’t go wrong. Fish is really fresh, and the flavor combinations are perfect.

Lion king roll smelled fishy and wasn't fresh. Won't be getting again. The other roll (j something) was absolutely delicious. Agedashi tofu was overpriced and they used firm tofu which was a first for me since all the other Japanese restaurants I’ve been to use softer tofu. I may try this place again if I’m really in the mood for that J something roll. Oh and they also charge $.15 for a to go bag which I’ve never experienced at other restaurants.

Hanabi is an absolute perfect Japanese experience. It reminds me more of an izakaya in setup, but the sushi menu is out of this world. They have unique rolls, great nigiri, and a fantastic lineup of other Japanese staples.

Great sushi at this place! Had the Washington, Hanabi 3, lovers,? And miso and hot sake. The rolls were fresh and delicious.

Definitely going again! Will add photos next time.

Have a beer. Try freshly grated wasabi. Get whatever the chef's special is. Enjoy yourself (but still go to Meadowlark after)

Really liked the ambiance. The food was excellent and our waitress was very friendly. Will return.

Best Sushi & hot tea in town! Hit tea is $1 and they keep bring it. The fish is always fresh and they are always fast and efficient with outstanding service. Hayden is an excellent server with excellent recommendations. We have been in Pleasanton for 18 years and will continue to come to Hanabi.

Sorely disappointed! If you Japanese or familiar with authentic Japanese, dont bother....
We ordered 3 bento boxes and the chicken was uncooked; rice was hard; tempura sauce was way too sweet; not Japanese style more korean style probably because Korean chef. When we let them know chicken undercooked but that we were not requesting it to be redone we heard them arguing about it and the waitress came back and said the chef wanted to see the chicken. very unprofessional. Even though we left more then 1/2 our meal on the plates the waitress did not question asked why and took our payment.
Would never go back and definately would not recommend. This is the first time I've ever written a review, but the whole experience was horrible and wouldn't want anyone else to have that experience. :-(
