Hap's is really popular and for good reason. We went this past Saturday early evening and there was a line starting to form before 5pm when the restaurant opens. Luckily, we were fourth in line. We went and sat at the bar to drink and eat. The bar and bar lounge filled up very fast. The two bartenders Carlos and Eric were both really good!Besides the wine, the dinner that we had was really delicious. We started with French onion soup followed by Prime rib and a side of mashed potatoes, which was huge!All in all, we had a wonderful time and we'll be back.

Came here for my birthday. Pleasantly surprised by the cru de te. The warm bread and whipped butter was also excellent. I ordered the prime rib medium rare and it came out perfect. They offer both spicy and creamy horseradish which I appreciated. Tina was an excellent server. She guided us through the wine menu as well as specials. Her recommendations were great. She was extra friendly and went above and beyond for service:

There must be a change with the cooking staff In the back. We came here to celebrate my birthday and all the sides that we ordered with our dinner have absolutely no flavor the steaks were decent at very best.I really hope the restaurant makes a change quick as I would love to be able to come back and enjoy it the meals they were once known for.

The wait staff was gracious and attentive. Food was shockingly well prepared. The 16oz prime rib was probably 32 oz! I was shocked such a fine restaurant is hidden in Pleasanton. Makes Ruth and Alexader's look Nouveau. Hope to have more business lunches there.

The service was great and the atmosphere was typical steakhouse. I had a prime rib which was fabulous. My wife had the fish special, which was absolutely horrible! The taste was fishy and nasty. I don't mind paying for quality but that fish was not fresh, it was a small filet, and yet it was twice the price of my prime. The veggie dishes were not very nice either. It was our first time at Haps, and our wedding anniversary but it was bad enough for us not to want to go back there. I'll give 3 stars only because my prime rib was great!

Service is superb! Went to the bar and had cocktails. My side car cocktail was amazing... Not too sweet, not too bitter but just right. They need more IPA beer options. We ordered the Prime Rib and the Shrimp Scampi. Delicious. My favorite part was the Strawberry Bread Pudding in a white sauce as their special. So yummy! On the pricey side but worth every penny! If you want a nice relaxing atmosphere with good service and good food... This is the place. Definitely coming back again and again.
