I have been coming here for years since the shop’s opening and I always found this place to be my favorite poke shop ever. My bowl was always very tasty and up to my expectations consistently for. Now as I almost am done with college, coming back to the shop this year during breaks have let me down consistently. The fish has started tasting fishier, the bowl seems not up to standard with barely any mixing, and the sauces have started tasting different, in not a good way. Mayhaps their recipe changed or the ratio has becoming to be inconsistent, however what cannot be looked past is the fact that some of their new hires do not have the best customer facing attitude. I got my friends from college to travel to the bay area to try the poke shop I raved about the most, yet they were met with a tone of attitude and annoyance from a younger worker. Their bowl, to put it in a transparent way, was made with half the effort of the older workers. Barely mixed, one sauce noticeably being poured more than the other sauces, multiple toppings with not even a 1/4 a spoonful amount (I am not joking when I say we all each got three thin strings of white onions and 5 little pieces of chopped green onions, two cubes of mango/pineapple, the list goes on). I decided to give it another chance, twice, ever since the first occurence when my experience went downhill when I visited with my friends. Now looking at my bowl right now, it truly makes me sad to say that I will never come back again in the future. My most recent bowl order, which has been consistent for the past 6 years, has been made so poorly that it seemed like everything just got dumped in the box. My mix seemingly got one stir only and theres only a fraction of the amount of sauces and fish in my bowl in regards to the amount I used to get. To top things off, the bowls have gotten so expensive every single year by dollars, which I honestly expect for every shop given how the economy has been for the past years, yet the quality and care put into the bowls have gone down. I truly hope this is a learning lesson for any of the current hires now, but as a former loyal customer of this shop, I do not recommend going out of your way to come here.
