Server had zero personality with us. He actually grunted to confirm he heard my order requests. Another table sat for at least 15 minutes, while a table seated after them was waited on and had their coffees before a hostess actually took the 1st tables order. What my(latino) husband and I (caucasian) both noticed was that this (latino) server preferred the all Latino tables. That earlier mentioned 1st table- Caucasian...... We've been dining at black bear diners for years, in various libations. This was by far the worst one we've seen. The best was in newburg oregon

The servings are massive. The servers are always attentive and friendly. We should probably share a meal, but end up ordering different things. There's always a lot of leftovers.
Honestly this place needs work food was so bland , service was the only good thing here . Went 10-5-2024 with in-laws, hash browns were all undercooked on all orders , hollandaise on eggs Benedict tasted artifical and eggs had an odd flavor. Wouldn't go back , better off making breakfast at home. Even our server agreed with us ...

Excellent comfort food. The tri-tip was tasty and cooked just right. The cornbread muffins are tasty and deserve to be well buttered. The onion rings are crispy and tasty. Just when I thought I was done I realized they have huckleberry ice cream to top off the meal perfectly.

I come here multiple times a week. The team here is incredibly welcoming and accommodating. The food is good with large portions. It's always clean, and even though they're usually busy never have to wait for a table, and the food comes out fast.

During this time when everything is so expensive, Black Bear Dinner gives a great meal at a reasonable price!
As a long-term patron of their restaurant, I often ate at the Mt. Shasta restaurant after a long day of skiing. Having a taste of beautiful northern CA here in the Bay Area is so welcome.
