Got seated immediately but waited for about 20 minutes and was never asked for our orders. I tried to get her attention but we were being ignored so we left the restaurant. We were chased by the lady server and apologized for forgetting.

Thank you so much to the staff. The food was comforting and delicious. The banchan was tasty and flavorful, the beef brisket soup is great, the ddukbokgi has a good flavor, the bibimbap has high-quality ingredients, etc. The staff are working hard and more people should come here. My family and I have been here multiple times. The staff were nice enough to take us in 20 minutes before they closed.

06.21.25 Delicious food! Had early dinner with our son and grandson here after they attended the baseball game with my husband in SF, Giants (3!) vs Red Sox (2).
Combo Gomtang is very rich and delicious as is Chadol Gomtang! So we asked and it used to be same owner as Seoul Gomtang on El Camino Real Santa Clara but they split and it's now different owners but the same rich broth and recipe with the same delicious kimchi and radish kimchi. The Gopchang Gui was pretty good too, nice and spicy. Excellent menu, will try the other dishes when we return.
Service was excellent, thank you!

Food is excellent. Service is so bad that it’ll make you not want to return. And if you are solo, don’t bother trying to eat here. I wrote my name down, waited 5ft outside, and when i came in to check, my name was crossed out. When I asked the server, you could tell he was lying, and said he called names and no one responded. Just be honest and tell me you prioritized larger, more profitable (?) tables than a single, I’ll even get out of your way and order takeaway. But to rudely cross out someone’s name on a waitlist? No thank you.

This was my first time trying Korean food, and I must say, I was thoroughly impressed. The kimchi had a delightful spice to it with a well-balanced flavor that wasn’t overwhelming—perfect for first-timers. Personally, I enjoy a bit of a kick in my kimchi, and this one delivered just enough heat while remaining savory.
I ordered the beef short ribs, and my wife opted for the beef fried rice. From the moment the food arrived, the aroma was incredible. The short ribs were flavorful and aromatic, but I felt the texture could have been improved. They were slightly chewy, and for short ribs, I prefer them to be more tender and easier to eat. For that reason, I’d give them a 3.5 out of 5. While the tenderness could have been better, the taste and presentation were still on point.
My wife’s beef fried rice, on the other hand, was outstanding. I have to admit—it was the highlight of our meal. If you visit this spot, I highly recommend trying the fried rice. It was hands down the best I’ve had, and the fried egg on top was a nice touch. I’d rate it a solid 4.5 out of 5. My only suggestion would be to make the egg yolk slightly runnier, which could add an extra layer of umami. Even so, it was absolutely delicious.
As you can see in the photos (taken a bit late into the meal), the food looked fantastic even after we started digging in. The portions are generous—enough to share, though not quite family-style. For our meal, we spent about $30-$40 per person, which felt slightly on the pricier side. Fortunately, our son just snacked on our plates, so we didn’t need to order a separate dish for him.
Overall, this was a wonderful spot for lunch. The food was flavorful, the portions were satisfying, and the experience was enjoyable. I’ll definitely be coming back again!
