Yes there is a sign at the entrance indicating this is a 21 and over property. 21 and over for the tasting room or sales room I get. But for the restaurant? Outside? Are you kidding? They (Garrett) told us we would need to leave because we had a child with us. Even after I asked if we could order something to go for our 3 1/2 year old granddaughter, he said no, and told us to leave. I don’t know of anything more rude than denying to serve a child accompanied by paying adults. Shameful. You can bet we will never visit this winery again, with or without our grandchild.

Wine was decent, but the staff was not very friendly or attentive.

While I have never left a review like this before I feel like it is appropriate given the circumstances that we encountered. The property is very beautiful and inviting yet the service unfortunately is lacking. We were a party of five inside and were completely ignored. We made it a game to see how long it would take for our next tasting to be poured. The person who poured our wine was actively drinking a bottle of wine in front of us and then would go on to say “I’m just hungover, I need to keep drinking.” He then would walk away as if we were just there to be entertained. It was completely professional and we will not be returning.

The staff was welcoming and the views unmatched!! We recently attended a concert on the property and being in a safe and friendly environment while enjoying amazing wines with a sunset view was a perfect evening!!

We were welcomed into the tasting room and told we could be served either inside or outside. We got our first pour and walked outside with it. We explored the beautiful property and realized we'd be more comfortable inside. We were helped by no less than 2 different servers. Both were very nice and accommodating. I ended up buying 6 bottles, as I throughly enjoyed their reds and my wife their sparkling rose. Beautiful venue and wonderful wines and service.

Really Zero stars. After a lovely day of amazing and welcoming experiences in the valley, I found this place to be AWFUL. The place had a very unwelcoming vibe. When we were finally set up for a tasting (at a very uncomfortable standing only bar - clearly the goal is to not encourage you to linger) the service was awful. First pour, after tasting I was ready to discard... no dump bucket provided, had to ask. Took forever to get second pour. Finding the second pour also not to my taste I asked to check out. I was charged $20. $20 for two sips of wine and the experience of being ignored! Helwig, you are not in Napa. Your competition is providing lovely, welcoming experiences with friendly staff. I advise folks who love a welcoming wine tasting experience to skip this place.

You have to go just for the experience :-) we’re 2 1/2 hours away in Marin County worth every minute of this trip into historic wine country being treated the way that you used to be able to be treated in Napa! Folks appear kind, intelligent about history of wines and our reason for jumping in was there great concert series. Seen Pablo Cruise there twice. and planning on seeing starship in the fall. They really trough this out. It’s a great intimate venue every seats a great seat fun to sip their wine. hit the food trucks and enjoy the music. Their genius in the way that they’ve set up the venue and the processing to get you into the venue. No stress had great interaction with Sam one of their operations guys who really knows his stuff. I think he’s head of their wine club as well as one of their extremely helpful amazing representatives of Helwig. Really appreciated the hospitality.

Intercepted outside of the building to let us know that no children are allowed. Didn’t feel friendly at all.

they are not welcoming to babies/kids. They wouldn’t even let us into the building. We were greeted outside by some dude walking up to us to let us know.

The grounds and scenery is some of the best of the vineyards here for this weekend BIG CRUSH event. It was almost to busy here with all the people. We got a little taste but bold and dry is not our favorite

Fun place to relax and have a glass of wine

Nice spot in Plymouth, they offer many quality wines including lesser known varietals like Graciano. The white port is amazing, it finishes like buttered popcorn. The property is newer and features a full kitchen, event space, beautiful vineyard views and an amphitheatre. A little busy but with good reason, it's a nice stop. Will definitely return after exploring the other wineries in Amador County.

Just beautiful!

Members for 10 years, out of town guests and was told “too busy today for a tasting” when there maybe was 20 people max. Horrible service to loyal members.
