What an experience today at Story! David and Joey gave us a phenomenal experience from the moment my family and I walked in the door to the moment we left and not only did we experience amazing and unique wines but we were blown away by the food! Teleported to Georgia and were given a taste of the history and background of their home and the culture . 10/10 recommend and cannot wait to be back! The views were breathtaking and we love their dog , Simba! Thank you for making us fall in love with an experience, David and Joey! You two are an incredible Father/Son duo . We will be back on Thursday

Came in and ordered a rose like a dummy because I don't know wine and David opened a whole world of Georgian wines and culture. Him and his son (Joey) spent so much time explaining their wines and food with love. Their amber wines were spectacular and unlike anything Ive ever tried. The canyon views were breathtaking and the food was OUT OF THIS WORLD. Being here felt like a giant hug from a beautiful family and culture. Thank you David and Joey for a wonderful experience, everything you have crafted is stunning and thank you for sharing it with us.

We went to three wineries in Amador, they were Amador Cellars, Helwig, and then Story. The other wineries were fine but Story was the best by FAR. It feels very low key and family owned where the other two felt but like a corporate owned. Then gentleman serving us was an amazing host who was more than happy to share with us the history of Georgian wines and Georgia itself. We were on vacation out here from Guam but if I come back to Amador again this will be a must for us. The wines were also some of the best I ever had and the dog they had was very friendly and very well mannered. Thank you so much and we look forward to our next visit!

If you’re somebody who truly enjoys wine and wants something authentic and unlike anything you’ve ever tasted then come here! This place is for wine lovers who want to experience unique wines that have depth and flavor. Amber wines are some of the oldest wines known to man and they have it here! The grapes used are from Georgia and the staff is unbelievably knowledgeable in the wine you’re being served along with selecting wines they know you’d enjoy. Don’t try to come in thinking you know what you want, just tell them what you’re interested in and let them do the rest. I can’t sing any higher praises about this place. Best winery in California I swear. Also! Their mascot is a literal Rottweiler that will come up and greet you and he’s the friendliest dog ever!

Georgian wines and cuisine top notch experience.
Highly recommend trying all food offered on the menu with their flight of various flavors, to simplify your decision on what to bring home or even better - raise the bar and sign up for The Club and get quarterly selection!!!

Beautiful views are a bonus or may be one of great reasons to stay longer than just for a single glass

The best winery we’ve ever been to in California!
The food is incredible, but what truly makes this place special is the warm and welcoming atmosphere created by the people who work here.

Chef Archi not only prepares amazing dishes but also greets guests with such kindness that you don’t want to leave — even after closing time.
The owner is a truly genuine and kind person.

We’ll definitely be coming back again and again.
Thank you!

We had pretty high hopes based on the reviews, but the experience just didn’t live up. There were two of us, we said it was our first time, but no one offered a tasting or explained anything — unlike pretty much every other winery we’ve been to. Service felt kinda cold. They just handed us menus and asked what we wanted right away. No wine list, no suggestions.
We were actually planning to try a few bottles and maybe buy more, but in the end just grabbed the one we came for — mostly so the trip wasn’t totally pointless. It was disappointing, especially seeing how much more friendly they were with other guests.
Maybe they’re just a bit picky about who they roll out the welcome mat for.
Try your luck though — maybe you’ll catch them on a better day.

An hour’s drive here – and a complete disappointment.
The food was tasty (I really liked the khachapuri), but that’s where the positives ended. The presentation was awful: plastic plates and utensils (except for the wine glasses and the plate for khinkali). The atmosphere was ruined right away.
The wine we were served had a strong alcohol smell – maybe it was just a bad batch, but no alternative was offered. The service also left much to be desired: they didn’t listen to the order properly and quickly walked away. It felt like a “serve yourself” concept.
The view is stunning, but that alone is not enough to make me want to come back. Maybe it’s fine for others, but for me – definitely not.

We absolutely loved our visit to Story Winery!
The khachapuri was incredibly delicious – it was the main reason we came, and it did not disappoint. The khinkali were tasty, and the Kindzmarauli wine was just perfect. We also enjoyed the beautiful view and the relaxing atmosphere. Live music added a special touch to the whole experience. Highly recommended – we’ll definitely be back!
