Cove Coffee is the best place to stop for breakfast on all of highway 1. Hot showers for campers, great bagels, amazing coffee, and if your ventures... a nice cold plunge off of the pier!! A must go! Go see Nate!

Great little coffee place just north of Gualala. Came here for the Wifi originally, but it has a very cozy vibe and doubles as a small gift shop - picked up a shirt and beanie before we left!

Kind of like pulling teeth for friendliness here….. The barista had a party of 4 in front of us and It’s like they ruined her day. She never greeted us while we stood in front of her in the small lobby for I’d say at least 6-8 Minutes. She shot some unconcerned looks at us every so often. It was so palpable that the lady in the back who was making food, seemed to notice and did the obligatory,” we’ll be right with you, thanks for your patience.” A random surfer came in to buy something and the barista perked right up and perked right back down when he left. The drinks were good, the prices were reasonable. I just wanted the normal “ Welcome in, Goodbye, please and thank you” like a normal customer.

Stopped to go out on the pier and sat at a picnic bench to watch surfers and wildlife. Checking my cell phone I noted that I didn’t have any service. I set my phone down and watched a couple of men speaking French and picking shells. Shortly after that we left to go see the nearby lighthouse a few miles away. When we got there I realized I had left my phone on the picnic table at the pier. We hurried back but we’re pretty pessimistic that we would get it back. With winding curves it took a few extra minutes to get back. When we did, I saw that it was not on the table any more. We went into Cove Coffee and the lady there immediately understood that we were the ones that the kind Frenchmen brought the phone into and related that they had seen that we had left without the phone and tried to flag us down. Maybe it was just the relief at getting my phone back but I ordered the best Americano I have ever had in a paper cup. Great coffee and greater service. 5 star.

We stayed at the inn above Cove Coffee and stopped in both days for coffee and sandwiches. Owners are so friendly! Coffee was great, as well as the avocado toast and bagel sandwiches. And if their homemade muffins are available, get one!

Cove Coffee in Point Arena is more than just a coffee shop; it's a testament to the charming simplicity of this small coastal town. The moment you step inside, you're greeted by an enticing aroma of brewing coffee that instantly takes you by the heart. The coffee is robust, full-bodied, and brewed to perfection. Whether you're a fan of a classic black coffee or prefer something more complex like a mocha or latte, Cove Coffee won't disappoint. Their sandwiches, on the other hand, are hearty and flavorful. Each bite delivers a tasteful symphony of freshness that complements their coffee quite well. Yet, Cove Coffee is not just about food and beverages. One side of the establishment is dedicated to a collection of surf-style clothing. It's a fun touch that adds character and pays homage to the coastal culture of the area. The proprietors are as genuine as they come. They operate with a realistic approach, running the shop usually with just a couple of people. As such, during the lunch rush, their speed of service can be slower, with about 2-3 sandwiches made every 5-10 minutes. If you find yourself in a queue, expect a wait of about half an hour. But remember, one visits Point Arena to escape the bustle of city life and to slow down. In the spirit of embracing the slower pace, view any wait as part of the charm. Your patience will be rewarded with a satisfying meal and the chance to soak up the local atmosphere. After all, in a town like Point Arena, the options might be few, but the quality is undeniable. In conclusion, Cove Coffee captures the essence of Point Arena — unhurried, authentic, and delightful. Be patient and you'll be treated to not just a meal, but an experience to remember.
