My wife and I happened to travel through Point Reyes Station, and Wild West Ferments caught my eye. This place is beautiful! I am a fan of various ferments, and they did not disappoint. The El Curtido was my favorite, and we should have purchased the big jar. They also have classes for learning how to make various fements, which I hope I will be able to participate in next time we are in the area.
Very fun spot to stop in. I didn’t think the seasonal fermented float was as good as the chronicle claimed but it was still very good. I think I would have liked it with the more flavorful chocolate ice cream as opposed to the fior de latte.
Their fermented strawberry floaty was sooooo good!!
It's all very fresh and delicious, just pricy..$30 for a sandwich and side salad
Wonderful shop full of gourmet ferments, wines, cheeses, cured meats, and amazing wild sodas. The people are great and the food is top. The deli is yum and there’s also a yarn shop with local wool! This place has it all. Love it!
The hardworking folks who’ve been doing Wild West Ferments for years took over the former Cowgirl Creamery space in Pt Reyes Station and are building it into a gourmet destination with wine, cheese, prepared foods, ferments, and other specialties. I beeline it to the wine display for hard-to-find, international, natural wines, then to the cheese case for Aries sheep cheese from Shooting Star Creamery. Well worth seeking out if you’re in the vicinity.
Sizable sandwiches. Side salad was a stupendous steal 😋 certainly satiating.
They have Wi-Fi in this store! It's a good spot to stop by, get some food, and get connected. I love the food here; you can't go wrong with the cheese. I enjoyed the Fromagea Trio sandwich.
Mushroom sandwich a must have
The Farmers Wife sandwiches are off the hook! All local and so delicious. We had the trio grilled cheese and the chicken sandwich 10/10 and the owner is so sweet!
Restaurantji Recommends
The Farmer’s Wife has a location inside and not to be dramatic BUT the Belly & Jelly sandwich is one of the best sandwiches I have ever had in my life. The large side salad was also exceptional.
Absolutely lovely local spot. There's cheese, wine, tons of pickled items (REALLY good kimchi!!), probiotic sodas, wool clothing, local art (seriously gorgeous botanical illustration!), soaps, and some of the most DELICIOUS sandwiches! highly recommend.
looove this shop, ya never know what you might find :) good prices and diverse options.
Unbelievably good sandwiches, super satisfying after hiking Mt Tam and driving down the coast!
