Tonight, I went out to Flexx Pomona to decompress and be in what I hoped would be a safe space for me as a trans man. I was minding my own business, buying drinks, spending money, and tipping generously as I always do, when security approached me and asked me to step outside.
When I asked why, I was told that multiple people had complained that I had been bumping into them. That was upsetting and confusing to hear, especially because I had largely kept to myself throughout the night, aside from buying drinks for people who seemed to be enjoying themselves. Even the security guard appeared uncomfortable having to remove me.
What hurts most is that this experience reinforced something deeply disappointing: as a trans man, I did not feel safe, protected, or respected in that environment. It is disheartening to spend time and money in a space that is supposed to serve the LGBTQ+ community, only to leave feeling singled out and unwelcome.
There were many other things happening around me that raised concerns about the overall environment and level of oversight, yet I was the one asked to leave. That speaks to a larger issue with how situations are being handled and how safety is being prioritized.
Wesley, you have known me for a long time, which makes this even more disappointing. The way this was handled reflects a serious lack of training, care, and accountability. I truly wish more attention was given to creating a space where people, especially trans people, can feel genuinely safe and supported.
I went to Flexx Nightclub with my best friend to see Cade Maddox and overall it was a really fun night, just with a few things I wish were better.
The highlight was definitely the show. I love that they make it interactive and get the crowd involved. It makes the whole experience feel way more engaging and different from a typical club. I just wish the show lasted longer. It started around 9:30 and since we got there a bit late, we basically caught the tail end. After that, it just turned into a regular dance floor.
The music was great all night, and the vibe of the space felt welcoming. The owner (older gentleman I think) was super friendly, which honestly stood out and made the place feel more personal.
I do wish there were more gogo dancers and that they weren’t all up on platforms. It would feel more lively if they were walking around and interacting with people. There were only about two at the time, so it felt a little sparse.
Overall, still a good experience and I’d come back. Just hoping for longer shows and a bit more energy on the floor next

Visited this bar on my vacation and was super excited to experience my first ever gay bar, unfortunately my excitement was short lived as my visit was miserable. The bouncer was nice but gave my friends and I miss information, explaining that the club was open until 3am and we would be able to get drinks (and possibly a student discount which we didn’t qualify for) while still paying the $20 cover. As I approached the bar eager for a drink and a great time, the rude bartender told us they were no longer serving alcohol and we later found out that they didn’t serve after 2am (even though it was 1:40am when we ordered). We asked to be refunded due to the deceptive information given by the other employees. We were told by the manager there was nothing that could be done and that he couldn’t serve us given the state laws. We were not asking to be served alcohol, just to be refunded the ridiculous cover. Will never visit this bar again. Tourist trap.

The amount of sexual assault happens here is very disappointing. What are the security guards here for? To look pretty?! I’ve noticed many teenagers have been assaulted here. It’s very disappointing because the drag shows are wonderful. If you plan to come here, be cautious.
My friend talked me into going to a burlesque show i went, I had a good time, and then I got pulled up onto stage which really surprised me and got my first professional lap dance and holy crap it was amazing haha wonderful woman btw.

This is definitely one of the better queer spaces of the Pomona area. Lots of diversity, usually a fun crowd whenever I’ve gone, and the Magic Mike show on Saturdays is still cute and something different than what most places offer. I’ve seen people complain about the long lines later in the night so I just try to get there super early to avoid that. They can’t help it if they’re the happening spot! LOL.

“Queer” bar filled with straight people. Idk me personally don’t think a GAY PERSON should feel out of place at a GAY space. Drinks are good and staff is hella nice tho

Some really disgusting things happen here sometimes, the security does not care or wont even follow you to the person that touched you or something (no effort they just stand there and move around) Some of the bartenders are mean and you would think they would be caring and comfort you but no they treat you like you deserved to be touched. Absolutley disgusting staff that protects Sexual Assault.

No place to stand, dance or walk. 30$ Bucks to be beat up? To have bodys on top of me all night. No thank you. Nothing is worth this level of discomfort. Poor management and a bad money grab. There wasn't a point where someone wasn't touching me or on top of me. I feel so disturbed and disappointed. Do better. Limit how many people you let in. At least for safety.
