Delicious Chicken
Great hospitality
It's abit far for me to come here for fried chicken but hey I'm a foodie. I'll drive just about anywhere if the food is worth going fir. Donahoo's is good, crispy, and juicy. My batch lacked some flavor but at least wasn't salty. The mac salad is the way I like it, kinda sweet but abit to much mayo. Rolls need some kinda something on it. Honey butter would be nice brushed on top after baking. Steak fries are just fries. I didn't get any kephup in my box so fries were blah. Will...read full review

Donahoo's Golden Chicken features a menu with fried chicken, potatoes, and more. The chicken is generally good, with large breast pieces and a crispy coating that many customers enjoy. The fries and muffin bread are popular choices, although some find the chicken a bit dried or the biscuits dry and not worth eating. The restaurant offers quick service and a clean, presentable environment, mainly focused on takeout. While there is no seating, parking is always available since it is takeout only, with ample free street parking nearby. Customers appreciate the simple menu and often visit for the chicken and gizzards, which are consistently praised. Some wish for more sauce options, as only hot sauce like sambal is available. Prices are considered a little high by some, and there are no meal deals like other fast food places.
This place is a staple of Pomona, known for crispy, juicy, and boldly seasoned fried chicken—whether bone-in pieces or chicken strips, it’s a classic comfort-food vibe done well. Dinner rolls are a standout—generous, buttery, and reminiscent of homemade or school‑cafeteria favorites. The chicken pieces are twice or three times the size of those at other places like Kentucky Fried Chicken or Popeyes, and the breading is well done. The sides and sauces, especially the buffalo, add to the appeal. The building is old and a bit of a dive, but it’s a historic landmark, so renovations are costly. Despite its simple setting, it serves the best fried chicken, and the rules are not about tiny biscuits but huge yeast risen muffin-sized rolls that can feed two people.
Customers who have visited only the Pomona location often praise it as one of the best chicken spots around. The chicken is seasoned, breaded, and fried perfectly. A box meal with fries and a side is enough food for most people, and the staff is always friendly. Donahoo's has been a Pomona staple for over 20 years, consistently holding down the local scene with great food and quick service. Overall, it remains a beloved spot where many come for the chicken and hearty sides.
