MAXXIMO Italian Restaurant & Banquet Hall

It’s tough to rate this place since we ended up not staying for dinner. I attempted to make reservations for my birthday for a small group of five, first time guests. The phone number on Yelp and Google is apparently wrong. The reservation assistant kept calling throughout the day with no answer. Then I received a phone call from the listed number from a past employee that said that she stopped working.at Maxximo several months back but unfortunately for her she continues to be listed as the contact.

We decided to just show up right when they opened at 5:30pm. The regular dinning area is not as spacious as the pictures online convey. I’m sure the private banquet hall must be bigger. The only options were high top bar like seating or one table that would’ve been a tight squeeze. The other 3 tables were already reserved and outside seating is designed more for cocktails than a comfortable dining option. Then my friend is in a recovery boot from a broken ankle, high top seating isn’t accessible for her, and the restaurant entrance has several steps. When I asked how she would enter the hostess said she would have to go all the way around the building to the very back and through the restaurant.

I just don’t think this place has it together quite yet. I understand that they’ve only been open a few months so maybe I’ll give it a chance in another 6 months.

What !!!!!! All the way around excellent ? Bartender Nelson was the greatest., super great service, drinks delicious, pizza delicious ? we just loved it, we do not need to go all the way to LA to be in a trendy beautiful looking place like this. Thank you guys we will be back .

New trendy place. Outdoor seating is nice for a date night. Food was delicious, small menu but everything my goup ordered was good. Has large dance hall in the back for dancing. They had live music.

The pasta sauces are very watered down and flavorless.

Had the chicken piccata it was really dry and rubbery so not that great. Also had a cheese pizza it was okay really cheesy taste good.

Beautiful restaurant, awesome food and drinks, great service. Pomona at last has an Italian restaurant that rivals competition in surrounding cities. Kudos to John Pena and Maxximo's Italian Restaurant. I invite everyone to give this place a try.

We visited from AZ and found this place online booked a table easily online. The staff was very friendly and funny, the restaurant was clean, and the food-WOW the best steak I have ever eaten. I will go there every time we come to CA just to have the best food and joke with the great staff.
