I really wanted to enjoy my time at The Basement Pomona—the overall vibe and energy were fun, and the crowd was mostly chill. Unfortunately, the experience was heavily overshadowed by the rude and unprofessional behavior from some of the staff.

The security guard in particular was unnecessarily aggressive and seemed to go out of her way to be rude. The woman with black hair constantly harassed groups of girls for no clear reason , it felt less like enforcing rules and more like taking her frustrations out on people just trying to have a good time. If you’re that unhappy at your job, maybe it’s time to find something better.

On top of that, the theme and music choices never quite hit the mark. You’d expect more cohesion for a themed venue, but it felt random and out of sync.

All that said, if you’re able to block out the negative energy from certain staff members, the venue itself has potential. The setup is cool, and there’s room for a really fun time—if the management starts prioritizing respectful, welcoming customer service.

I usually love this venue, but I did have an unpleasant experience that I SEE others talking about in their reviews. I don’t believe it is the events or even the location. However we had issue with one security guard. The white woman with black hair.

To give context. I am a sober person watching over my friends. (I am 21 just to give context) One IS 20. So they cannot drink. My other friends are 21. I sit with the friend that is 18 and drink water (since I will not be drinking tonight) they are on my left. My other friends who are drinking are on my right. The security guard says to the people (of age) on my right that they are given a warning and their drink is taken away. This is inappropriate. Also it is very telling when I am white, and the people you approach calling a “bad influence” are brown. This left a sour taste in my mouth. Being there was multiple men offering a drink to my underage friend. in front OF HER. And she did not do anything about it. Another security guard did when I asked. Is it racist? I’m not sure but definitely a double standard was held. I remained sober and kept my 20 year old friend away from them. Yet they kept being watched by security. This was strange. I have attended this event multiple times with same security never had this happen.

Now I will say the black security guard outside was a SAINT. Gave water to throw up bags to everyone I saw throwing up. He also made sure we were okay as we saw all this. He made sure to check ID’s and wasn’t being weird to us.

I understand the law, however the way that this was handled was unnecessary. I am quite ashamed at what transpired being I have been here multiple times now.

The music and staff for the most part is lovely just watch out for the white woman with black hair security. She has been known amongst regulars to be upsetting to say the least.

RATCHET. I will give credit where credit is due and say they did have some good djs (not all of them). This place was really weird it was a mix of high schoolers and people who were WAYYY too old to be there and acting NASTY. There is ZERO decorum or class. Also make sure to be careful of your surrounds because there will always be a single man trying to creep on you or play eye tag.

Also the flyers and themes never actually apply it’s all BS.

The dance floor needs more air flow or fans, but overall a cool place.

I visited tonight for one of Club Rock It's events. I'm under 21, so I can't speak on the quality of the drinks here. I can, however, tell you that it was a much better experience than I expected.

A lot of people say the security is overbearing, especially on those under 21, but I didn't find that the case at all. They mostly stood to the side and watched quietly. I expected to be questioned and have a hard time coming in using my ID as I'm freshly 18, but the bouncer did the math on his own instead of giving me a problem which I very much appreciated. (You'd be surprised how many people can't add!)

Most sitting room is VIP, and the floors are either slippery or sticky. Also, the marker they use to mark those under 21 does come off concerningly easy. It's those main reasons that make this not a full 5 stars for me. Honestly though, if you're just looking for a place to spend some of your night, this is a good place to go.

Would give zero stars if possible. Paid 30 just so the security can flash the light at me while I’m in the toilet and scream at us to hurry the f up. And on top of that shove my sister in the way out. I’ve been to better places for $30.

DO NOT RECOMMEND! DJ wack! Security sucks! apparently if you pay for a section and know the security guards you can kick out anyone! the female security guard with the long black hair is the rudest! SAVE YOUR MONEY!!! there is literally creeps everywhere!

I was here on Friday may 24th, my drinks got spiked. And this isn’t the first time it happened. It must have been the bartender because no one else had contact with my drinks.
