Good food. Very pricey and slow service times.lousy parking. Try the different hot sauces. They're always eat and tastes.

If you like real Mexican, here it is! Pricier than tacos usually are, but worth the money if you're willing to spend it!!

The service is wonderful and the environment is nice and welcoming, but the food isn't all that great. The rice was extremely dry and the beans were basically soup and my whole plate was just bland. The meat looks like it has seasonings but it didn't taste like it. I used to love this place when I was younger but now there's no good Mexican restaurants in town.

I ordered the lengua burrito bowl, and the lengua was very tender. Absolutely loved it! The horchata was perfect. Our server was excellent.

My family and I were visiting a friend in the area for the weekend. There aren't many restaurants in Portola so we settled on Rico's based on reviews. From our experience, it wasn't great but sufficed. Being one of the only restaurants in Portola, Rico's was bright and easy to find. The colorful walls and Mexican paintings gave a little getaway environment. We appreciated the kind and speedy service for our meals. The workers were all helpful and got everything out quickly. I'm a sucker for tamales in the winter. Settled on an A La Carta Pork Tamale. The order came with two tamales. It had a good texture and the filling was flavorful and well spiced. My family and friends had their Beef Fajitas and Chicken Fajitas and we shared Homemade Chips and Salsa and Guacamole. They said the fajitas were overcooked and oily. I found the chips to be crunchy and dense but the guacamole didn't taste too fresh. If you check in on Yelp you can get a free soda with purchase; I don't drink soda so they were kind to swap it to a Horchata for me! It was creamy, light, and sweet. For those living in Portola, I can see why this is popular amongst the neighborhood. As an out-of-town visitor, I found it to be okay but not special. Regardless, they have plenty of dining options, the service is local and homey, and it's a casual spot for a hot meal. It's conventionally located off E Sierra Ave. with plenty of free parking out front.
