If it wasn’t for the Mexican restaurant next door we frequent, I would have no idea this place existed! I’m so glad we checked out Ai Sushi & Teriyaki on Scripps Poway Parkway. The restaurant is fairly small but so clean and beautifully decorated with an homage to Totoro, the popular Japanese character. The staff were all so welcoming, friendly and genuine. At some points however I felt like I needed a Rosetta Stone, although I suppose that lent an air of authenticity...

From the moment we walked in, everything was perfect. The staff greeted us with a smile, the ambiance was warm and relaxed, and the food… wow. Every bite was full of flavor. Will 100% be back

We go here for sushi and the service is slow due to having one hostess. They do have a restroom in the back if you actually ask. They also do have a high chair if you ask, they just have them stored in the back.
