Wonderful food. The chicken soup is “cómo hecho en casa” aka absolutely delicious. Soul warming and belly filling. The street taco plate also tasty. The chicken taco was very very good…there’s a chicken expertise to el Don Pollo. 🐔. Rice = 💯. Beans = 💯. Salsa bar? Simple but delicious. Three unique options for each flavor requirement. Last but not least, everyone was friendly and warm. Not sure if it was Don Pollo himself but the person in charge was passionate about his customers. It showed in the rest of the staff as well. Great job, wonderful, quick, and wallet friendly place. We will be back, especially on a cold day for that soup!!

We went in wanting to love this place after all the great reviews. Sadly we were disappointed. Chicken was dry, far worse than El Pollo Loco, which is 1 mile away. Carne asada burrito was just bad. Quesadilla was decent. Supposedly they have san diegos best chicken soup ... it was just okay, again dry chicken. If you want chicken, go to Pollo Loco. If you're in Poway and want Mexican food, go to the Barn.
