Filippi's Pizza Grotto Poway

This is a good spot for comfort food! BIG amounts of comfort food! The pizzas are stuffed with the topping of your choice & topped with SOO MUCH CHEESE! In a great way, sloppy delicious pizza? along with their great deal of the pasta dinners HUGE QUANTITY of pasta very shareable along with salad soup & bread it was a great meal & more than enough for 3. We had the meat lovers med. Sized pizza & shrimp pasta with mushroom in a garlic buttery wine sauce. It's a cozy spot. I did, however, think the quality isn't very high in ingredients or fresh. However, i did not change that it was tasty.I will be back to try other dishes .

Could use some improvement. For starters, train your servers properly before putting them on the floor. The male server was nice, but it didn't make up for his lack of training. Queen pizza, just okay. I did like the ravioli meat sauce and anti-pasto salad.

This place is excellent! I crave it often. Their antipasto salad is fantastic. I lived in New Jersey for 9 years, so my standards for pizza are unreasonably high. But what Filippis may lack in crust quality and sauce, they make up for with tons of cheese, which works just fine for me. This is good pizza... maybe the best in San Diego.

Ordered a torpedo sub and it was so greasy and way too much lettuce and not enough meat and it looked like it was just thrown together. Will not order from them again

Ordered a large Fit for a King pie(it's basically a supreme pizza anywhere else) that I was sharing with a friend. The pie was $31 and the size matches the price. However, when the pie was brought to the table, I could immediately tell by looking at the cheese that the pie was underbaked. No browning at all and upon tasting it, there was raw dough. It was especially noticeable in the crust. It makes the pie a chore to chew through. I put this pizza below what you can get at an amusement park.

Service and atmosphere were good, no issues there. I'd be willing to go back and try one of their subs, but I ain't and wouldn't recommend ordering their pizzas.

A very comfortable place to eat with very friendly service. The antipasta salad was great. Get the small one because it will be good for three people. I must say the pizza is different. Toppings on the bottom with a lot of cheese. This was our first time here so if I knew they made the pizza with so much cheese, I would have asked for less. The pink lemonade was very good. Plenty of parking is available.

The food was fantastic. We ordered a thin crust large Italian pizza That was terrific. The salad was ice cold and the dressing was Stupendous. Jesse our waiter Was Always there when we needed him And we really enjoyed our evening.

When I dine inside at Filippi's Pizza Grotto, I always get the lasagna dinner with Italian sausage, it's the best, better than any other restaurant.

Parking: There is ample parking behind the restaurant off of the alley at which I've never had a problem finding a space.

I love filippi's pizza. I moved away 25 years ago. But, when I make my annual trip home, Filippi's is my first stop. The food and service are excellent, and they always do a wonderful job with our party of 10-15 people.
