This place holds a special place in my heart. I grew up in Poway, and back then, this was the cheapest way to fill your stomach. To my surprise, it still is!!
I love the California burrito here, and although itās different from what one would normally classify as a āCalifornia burrito,ā it remains one of my favorite renditions of the dish. Back when I was living out of state, even if I only had one night to visit SD, Iād spend my dinner here every single time without fail.

Really mixed experience. Tried them a couple times and half the food we ordered was pretty good, half was just so-so at best (I remember the burritos were really good, but I wasnāt impressed with the bland, mostly breading fish tacos, or the chopped cheese tacos).
Service was absent-minded and even careless. The staff just seemed used to dealing with regulars , which is totally fine, except then they ignored/forgot about us, and didnāt make any attempt to help us with any questions about the menu. Items came out at different times, and they completely forgot about one until we managed to flag someone down- and then we had to basically explain it to them all over.
Disappointing because I thought this might become a favorite spot.
Update: Iām just getting over a bad bout of food poisoning, and I narrowed down the cause to be the shrimp taco I had here. Downgrading to one star and recommending others avoid. I canāt give this place another shot.
