I hate to leave such a low review for a place where the employee was so welcoming, kind and patient, that was clean and tidy and well stocked, but I wish I’d read the reviews on Apple Maps before I went in. I went for donuts, and they are utterly unacceptable.I live over an hour away, very rurally, and donuts are a rare treat for us. The few other times I've gotten donuts to bring home, it’s been from another place in another area but this time I decided to come through poway instead of that other way on my drive home from the city. Winchell’s was the only place near where I was that was open so I went there. The experience in the store last night was amazing, but this morning the donuts are so dry and not good my husband wouldn’t eat more than one bite. I got a variety of donuts and no one will eat them.Unfortunately, since we rarely get donuts, winchells will not get another chance even though it’s closer to me than the other place. Again, wonderful service, bad donuts.

The donuts are good, the coffee is good. The older lady that works there gave me the wrong donut after I pointed to the one I wanted twice. I ordered an iced coffee and got hot coffee.

All the sugar covered donuts I bought were stale. Like they had been sitting there for 3+ days. Don't go here. Not good , wasted my time and money.I actually ended up throwing more than half of it away. So annoyed.

I usually grab half dozen donuts ($9.99) when I come here. Their prices have increased since 2021 but so has every other donut place in San Diego.They have a variety of donuts on rotation. I came across wild cherry frosted and vanilla topped with oreo crumbs donuts in March 2023. They also have holiday themes like orange frosted donuts for Halloween.

My second visit at this location and another pleasant experience. Consistent so far, as I've gone here at about 9:00 am a year ago, and tonight at 5:00. The donuts are simple but satisfying and fresh, while the service is amicable.Apple fritter ($1.59): crispy, sweet, and the soft apple pieces make this special, 9/10.

I'm grateful this location was open 24/7 during my early morning break. There is literally nothing else open in this area besides one taco restaurant. I was happy to know that I could get a tuna melt on a croissant. The cashier was really sweet and patient with me. Have you ever tried to order off a menu, while looking without your glasses and you have no idea what you want lol just imagine how annoying that can be. Thank you for your patience and service, I really appreciate it. Meeting someone with a pleasant personality at this hour is very unusual. I'm giving 5 stars for the service and food. I wish I knew her name but was served on 1/28 @ 4am you are awesome the location is clean and safe.

It's a hit or miss when we come here, I guess it depends on the time and day but sometimes it's amazingly, fresh and fluffy donuts and other days you wish u saved ur calories for something actually eatable because when it's bad here it's so bad with rock hard donuts. The nice thing is they really are open 24/7
