Wow! What a gem!

My wife and I have spent the last several days working at the Aftershock Music Festival in Sacramento.

Sacramento are packed, so we are staying neardy in Rancho Cordova. The artists we were covering ended mid afternoon yesterday, so we decided to skip the on-site catering and find a local place to have a 'proper' dinner.

We found Il Forno Classico 15 minutes away on Google maps and after looking at the menu pics, we decided a nice Italian dinner would be perfect.

(The current menu photos are 4-years old, so I've uploaded a current set. As expected, prices are up a bit from 4 years ago, but not nearly as much as we've seen in a lot of places.)

Il Forno Classico FAR exceeded our expectations in every way.

I had the Meat Lover's Lasagne and my wife had the Rainbow Tortellini. The portion sizes were very generous, and both dishes were just outstanding.

Our cocktails were perfect, the dessert was delicious and our server was absolutely great.

We HIGHLY recommend Il Forno Classico.

Do yourself a favor and pay them a visit. I'm sure you will be happy.

Loved our waiter. Very attentive without interrupting conversation. Busy seating but for a Monday when other eateries are closed that was expected.

Came in with a friend to grab a drink and dessert. The waiter was visibly annoyed by us not ordering an entree. I could understand if the place was packed and we were taking up a table but there were plenty of other open booths and we came after the dinner rush. The attitude from the waiter was extremely off-putting and I won't be back.

II Forno has been around for a long time and loved by locals. Great pasta dishes and a really nice happy hour also! I reccomend the Chicken Picatta.

Dinner was chicken parm and it was absolutely delicious. Fresh made pasta. Bread olive oil and balsamic vinegar with seasoning and fresh basil. Literally, one order can feed 2 people. My first time eating from this establishment and will not be my last. The only thing I keep thinking is... why did I wait so long.

Came here with a group of 12 and we were all blown away!! Service was top notch, food was EXCELLENT!! Highly recommend the naughty pasta (handmade noodles), best meatballs i've ever had!!

Insanely good food and service. They tried so hard not to let me box my food myself but I like to scrape all the sauce off the plate with their great bread they serve to all their guests. With good food comes bigger prices but the naughty pasta comes with a good portion size.
