Los Burritos Express

Great breakfast burrito and fantastic salsa. A little expensive but I'm sure it's normal pricing in California (Thanks Newsom) overall would recommend.

First time trying the food here and we wished we had sooner. I got the Super Nachos w/Carnitas and she got a chicken burrito. Both were really good and probably the best out of all the local Mexican restaurants we've tried. It is not far from our house so we will be back, just not as often as we'd like since they close too early for dinner but it's understandable too. We highly recommend stopping here if you are in the area. I can't wait to try their breakfast burrito.

Los Burritos Express is smack dab in the middle of a sea of auto recyclers in the industrial part of Rancho Cordova. I was going to be in the area and was hungry and found Los Burritos on yelp, so I decided to check it out. At first I passed the location because I really wasn't expecting it to be between 2 recyclers, but its right off the main road and super easy to get to as long as you are paying attention :)

As I walked in, I was greeted by that smell! We all know that smell, and when you smell it, you know you are in for something home made, that smell is Fabuloso!! If you are looking for a place thats hip, Instagramable, and drizzling crema over everything then keep on going. But if you are looking for a solid breakfast/lunch or early dinner, you hit the jackpot. You can tell this place is meant for people working in the area to get a quick quality meal that won't break the bank, everything is home made and you can tell.

We checked this place out twice, with a couple of days between. Thats what we do to make sure a place is consistent. The owners were super friendly each time, food was made quickly and was fresh, there wasn't anything that seemed it had been sitting around. You have to start off with the chips and salsa, as you wait, you get a good feel for what your food will be like. The chips were fresh and crispy, tasted like they make them in house. There is 3 salsas, red, spicy red, and green, and they have the pickled carrots on onions along with jalapenos. other than the peppers nothing was overly spicy, the carrots had just enough heat to make them enjoyable, the salsas also had good flavor, I found doing a 50/50 mix of the reds was a good combo, as the normal red sauce needs a little boost in heat. IMO the green sauce is the winner!

We love tacos, all kinds of tacos, and appreciate it when a place makes the correctly. The main star of a taco has to be the meat or anything else you are filling it with, not the onions, cilantro, or salsas. You should be able to close you eyes and eat a piece meat and tell what it is, and it should be good enough to where if thats all you had on our plate you would be happy. We had fish, carne asada, chicken, ground beef, shredded beef, adaboda, and papa. And each one was unique, the adaboba and carne asada had a char/grilled flavor to them, the chicken was infused with seasonings and was tender, the shredded beef was crispy and not dry, and the fish was nice and flakey and wasn't covered in batter, light and crispy. The shells were fresh made crispy and not greasy at all, packed full of meat and topped with cheese and lettuce. The fish tacos were huge, some places use a single piece of fish, if you are lucky you get 2, our tacos had 3, and the fish was excellent, I could of used a little more sauce, but thats just my personal preference. The tacos de papa were stuffed, if they sealed them up, they could of called them empanadas.

So here is the breakdown. This is what good taquerias were like before everybody wanted a plate that looked good and was covered in sauces vs a plate that tasted good and at a good price. Owners were nice, and place was clean, food was fresh. Prices were higher than the pictures on yelp, but the food quality/taste and portions made it worth it, there are a lot of pricier places with worse food. Would we go back.. 100% I want to try the other menu items, and I would make the drive in from hwy 50 to come back.

Yhe best Mexican food in Rancho. Burrito, chips, salsa, all great. Thankful to find this place near me.

My husband and I are absolutely in love with this Mexican spot! The older gentleman who works there, I believe he’s the owner, is so kind and welcoming. And the food was fantastic! So far, we’ve only tried their breakfast menu, (my husband ordered the chorizo breakfast burrito but swapped the potatoes for rice since he’s not a fan of potatoes in his breakfast burrito. 😅) we can’t wait to go back and explore the rest of the menu, like the Adobada mini tacos, Lengua mini tacos, Camarones a la Diabla, and more! They also have two red salsas, and one of them is super spicy and incredibly flavorful. I loved the kick! it’s so good! The location is a little bit ackward, but it’s totally worth it. Definitely recommend!

Best lunch of all year!
I happened upon this place just by sheer luck and am so glad I did!
Moses is a total badass and pointed this indecisive woman in the right direction for my culinary pleasure.......and let me say he's now on my short list of men who satisfy. 😉
The asada chimichanga itself was quite long and girthy enough to make a porn star blush. Sandwiched between generous portions of sour cream and guacamole, it was tightly packed with meat and glistened with wet sauce and gooey melted cheese.
It took me nearly an hour and I finally had to tap out finishing maybe 2/3rds of it. (I have a huge appetite and high metabolism.) The atmosphere was bright and cherry with plenty of happy customers popping in and out with their usual orders and many choosing to come inside and stay awhile.
I'm most definitely looking forward to spicing up my lunch life in the New Year and this place will be frequented often.

I have yet to experience anything but stellar service. The food is fresh, and the spicy salsa is close to, if not the best, I've had. My husband might be addicted to the carne asada tacos.

Love this place, and I’d weigh 500 pounds if I ate there as often as I want. The breakfast super burrito and adobada tacos are two of my favorites. An extensive menu with chimichangas, burritos, tacos, tortas, salads, quesadillas, enchiladas, tostadas, and churros for desert. Highly recommended.

I usually go to two other places about 15-20 minutes away to get breakfast burritos. Decided to try this. We ordered two different ones. My wife who likes breakfast burritos but only gets them when I do, liked hers (bacon). I ordered the ham, egg and potato and it was just as good if not better than El Favorito and Adalberto's. Comparable in price too. Not much for atmosphere, but I was only there to order to go. Small restaurant, but I suspect it's more set up for to go orders. It was clean and the guy at the register was real nice. Will definitely be back as it's about 5 minutes from my home.

Parking: Kind of hidden, in an industrial area, right off of Sunrise.
