Great food! The udon is delicious as well as the sushi. The place is closing on the 31st of October so it is sad to see this lovely place go but come here while you can!

I love this restaurant! The owner has been swamped since quarantine and when I picked up food today, I saw she had put a sign saying she's planning on retiring and closing Happy Bento at the end of the day 10/31/2020.

This is currently my favorite place to order food. The people working there are always nice and I like the majority of what I've had here. I like that they serve dishes that are hard to find (at least in my area) like hamburg steak. I think the ramen, hot soba, hamburg curry bento, and the tuna mayo rice ball are particularly good. I didn't like the salmon and the mackerel bento - the mackerel really hurts because it's one of my favorite Japanese dishes. I've only ordered both of those once though, so your experience may differ.It's kind of a dingy place, but don't be fooled by it. If you're interested in Japanese food, this place is definitely worth a visit.

My favorite authentic Japanese restaurant! It's a mom and pop shop that's great for takeout. If you want delicious Japanese home cooking in the IE, look no further. Our go-to orders are: Chicken Katsu Curry (so, so good!!!), CA rolls, tonkotsu ramen (of course, she packs the broth separately from the ramen so it doesn't get soggy) and summer noodles (try it! -when available). The owner, Mickey, is often the one picking up the phone line. She is so friendly and feels like a dear friend now. She also does ALL the cooking, I believe. My family and I have been coming here for about a year. Our only regret is having not discovered Happy Bento sooner!

Awesome!! I've been coming here for a long time and I love love their pork katsudon. It's very hard to find a Japanese restaurant that serves home style Japanese food that isn't sushi. Sushi is great too here though!!! The curry and the Hamburg steak is to die for. Honestly best bang for your buck. The lady who works here is super super sweet too!!!! Food is delicious and prices are so so reasonable!!! Come and try it for yourself!!! Support local business!!!

Amazing! If you are looking for authentic Japanese food, you've got to visit this place. It reminds me of homemade Japanese food when I visited Japan. You can not beat the price either. The lady that works there is so sweet and humble, you just want to protect her. Definitely earned my business and I'm coming here more regularly for the great food and service!

Big fan of Japanese food! Ordered the Katsu Curry Bento along with a spicy salmon Rice ball. I can eat, and at first, I didn't think I would get full but not only did I get full, but it was soo Good! the chicken Katsu was crispy and not oily, and the curry was delicious! and when I poured the Curry over the rice! I was in love! The Service here is also very nice! you get that Genuine Japanese hospitality. Service with a smile! overall I will definitely be back!
This is my favorite Japanese take out place. Reminds me of one of the small Japanese restaurants that used to be all over Little Toyoko in Los Angeles (but we can't go to now because of the homeless and crime). Great food, prices and service! A little hidden gem that is totally worth visiting.

I got chicken katsu curry for to go. The portion was so small. The katsu was small too. The curry is okay. Giving 2 stars because I'm a little disappointed. Not worth for $10.

They say that no place is perfect, but after coming here... I'd say that is completely wrong. Happy bento really is as it says it is, Happy. The customer service i received from the kind woman who helped me today was more than welcoming. I ordered the chicken katsu with curry and a baked salmon rice ball. The chicken katsu and curry went perfectly together and even tasted amazing on their own. The chicken was cooked to perfection and the curry had a flavor profile that reminds you of home. I'd also like to note that the chicken had just the right amount of crunch too. Even the oranges that came in the bento box were sweet and juicy!! The rice ball was warm and delicious. I highly, HIGHLY recommend coming and trying this place out, it's underrated!! I'll be back soon to enjoy the food again. I'm so Happy to have found Happy Bento :)
