Hotel restaurant, lacking atmosphere with thin paper on the tables to simulate a tablecloth. Nice waitress, good sourdough bread, and olive oil with balsamic on request. Glad could do half orders. Excellent dessert. nothing special on the menu but the calamari appetizer was good.
The reason for the lower rating was that when we arrived the restaurant was not receiving customers. We were diverted to the hotel lounge as a result of low occupancy where we were able to order from the lounge menu as well as the restaurant food menu, but the same wines were not available. It was just a very different experience than we were expecting when we made the reservation. It would have been nice to know ahead of time and we probably would have gone to another full service...
Be aware our experience was mid-August; a “slow” season for those of us who call the desert hole. Overall, a beautiful venue very well appointed which was expected. We dressed “up” a bit (slacks, collared shirts, skirts, blouses); many dining were in shorts, flip flops, tee shirts.....possibly due to being off-season? Food was great. Service at times a bit slow. We never got our dessert order; explanation was something about an issue in the kitchen?! I/we may give it another...
