The service and atmosphere is fantastic. Great location within the resort and friendly/prompt staff.

But I have to give the place a negative review because a restaurant of this caliber that charges premium prices should focus on their food.

If the plate prices are in the 40-50 range then I’d expect a dish that lasts more than just a few bites. They were “michelin” sized mini plates but nowhere near the flavor profile to charge a premium for a small, bland dish. It was a disappointing experience.

Let me start by thanking our server Chris endlessly. He came through with the Costco lactaid and saved my meal. Without real butter and dairy for a meal like this I would have been heartbroken. However it was so good, I can only imagine how good the substitutes still would be. They offered to use vegan butter for my meal but I much preferred the dairy. This is the kind of classy place that puts the napkin on your lap for you. The view was unbelievable and the atmosphere felt elevated being at a resort. We were only here for dinner but we heard much about it all the way near the airport by the bus service we used for a work event. The bread spread flight was so fun and we got burrata to add to the joy of it all. I got a truffle pasta that was to die for. We had an Albariño and a sparkling blanc de blanc I believe and both were fantastic bottles of wine. I would love to come back to this resort if I have the opportunity to stay. Great sunsets is a given. It was a bit chilly for the area but we had just come from the east coast where it’s been wind chill of -20 degrees but they offered blankets and heaters all around which was more than I could have asked for from a restaurant.

One of the best meals I've had. The lobster pasta special had umami. The staff was welcoming, attentive but not obtrusive. And the location was beautiful. Really good!

A friend held a milestone birthday celebration, and everything was top notch (in quality as well as price). The menu options available all looked good (and everyone seemed to enjoy them). The setting and facilities were very nice. And the views, of course, were excellent.

On top of that, we had high-level service from the staff -- speed, accommodation, responsiveness. Indeed, the only critique I could come up with was that the guy with the pepper grinder would ask instantly whether you wanted some, before you could even taste your food.

Pricey, but, for something special, worth it.

We had a great and personable waiter and the young lady working with him both made our experience very nice. The Waygu steak special was cooked perfectly too. The bread and spreads are a must.

Quiet, beautiful view of the coastline and ocean. Great romantic sunset dinner with amazing staff to make the experience that much better. The dinner for 2 Australian steak was delicious and more than enough for us. The bread service is also delicious, every bread was amazing with the spreads complimenting each bite. Definitely recommend getting in just before sunset to take advantage of the sceneries.

Beautiful restaurant in a gorgeous location. Sit outside. The music was lovely and not too loud. The service staff is delightful. The food is excellent. It is expensive but not overpriced for what you are getting. This is a great choice for a special occasion. Taking a walk before and or after to enjoy the ocean views and breezes is an added bonus.

We had a wonderful "date night". the service was impeccable, and the food and wine were incredible. They are able to accommodate may palettes.

Had a birthday dinner for 10 for my father. The friendly service was the BEST part of the evening and set the tone for a special meal. Recommend the scallops, oysters, hamachi crudo, and burrata starters. Everyone raved about their entrees: lobster pasta, Alpina beef filet, bucatini cacio & pepe, Iberico pork coppa steak and the sea bass. We ended the meal with the pavlova, old fashioned caramel sponge cake and the panna cotta. Recommend Mar'sel highly.

This was our first time dining at mar'sel. This higher-end restaurant delivers a memorable dining experience. The service throughout the restaurant was excellent, but our main server Chris was simply exceptional. Thanks Chris!

This mar'sel dinner added to our overall enjoyment while staying at Terranea Resort during Christmas week.

Our favorite dishes that we rated 5⭐️ were the following.
~Le Petit Barachois oysters - sweet, delicious, and not briny. (Cali-grown)
~Wagyu stuffed white truffle ravioli
~Assorted breads & spreads
