A great local steak/seafood place. Been there twice, both times sat in the bar as it seems to be always crowded. The drinks are good (and strong) they make a good vodka martini ;-) The food is always tasty and served hot and fresh. Heard this place was closing .... bummer as it's a nice vibe for happy hour. We will miss you Admiral. Bon Voyage and happy sailing.

I am disheartened to see the Admiral Risty is closing in late August after so many wonderful meals and times at this longtime RPV favorite!

Classic 1975 steak house type restaurant with a focus on fresh fish. Excellent professional service staff. Wayne the owner is perfectionist and is a very involved and active manager. They say there are closing in August 2019 I hope it's a bluff!

Last night Jimmy served & suggested us to an amazing anniversary dinner with a romantic window view! Oysters on the half shell were amazing with an outstanding lounge singer playing in the bar! Halibut and sea bass prepared amandine with capers. It was amazing! 52 years you've been around, unfortunately for us we've only recently discovered you! We'll be coming back a few more times!

Amazingly busy Wednesday night. Maybe because after 52 years in business The Risty is closing in August and folks are squeezing in one last meal.....or it could have been the glorious 67 degree, partly cloudy day at the west edge. Those clouds set up a breathtaking sunset and lucky diners at tables next to the huge ocean facing windows watched something spectacular. We weren't next to a window but we were able to see it through the dining room, wholly guacamole it was stunning. We had a chance to grab a photo outside just before dinner arrived, score! William served us well; despite the filled to the brim restaurant, he was killing it last night. He was grace under fire as he serpentined through the intricate placement of tables and chairs and fulfilled diners wishes. Kudos to the kitchen for keeping up and getting it right. And hats off to the bartender for the delightful margaritas. Fresh baked bread to start, who doesnt love fresh baked bread slathered with butter? No me, I'll have seconds please. A garden fresh salad with housemade blue cheese dressing...I ate every bite. My friend had ceasar and she gobbled it down. Steak, swordfish, loaded baked potatoes and asparagus all perfectly prepared and enough to take home for a nice steak sandwich. Couldn't resist the Pineapple Upside Down cake, served warm and sitting on a web of caramel drizzle. Seriously would not have been surprised if one of us licked the plate, it was that good. Love nostalgic restaurants like this, the neighborhood is losing a gem. The overflow here likely keeps the other restaurants nicely patronized so I'm sure they're sad to see it go too. Good luck to the staff who called The Risty home for 10, 20 or 30 years...some who dined as a child have worked here a good portion of their lives. If you have a chance plan a visit before it closes. "I must go down to the seas again, to the lonely sea and the sky, And all I ask is a tall ship and a star to steer her by." You absolutely got that right Mr. Masefield.

This restaurant is my wife's favorite. A great ambiance, excellent service, outstanding food and tasty dishes makes this place "outstanding " overall.

A perfect restaurant in a perfect setting. I've enjoyed it many many times with friends and family from happy hour sunsets to birthdays, food and service has always been 5-🌟. I find it very sad they're closing in August, please say it's not so! 1st Port O'Call and now the Admiral, HUGE BUMMER!

For 50 years + The Admiral Risty has been about the nicest restaurant on the Palos Verdes Peninsula, everybody's 1st choice for birthday dinners & special occasions. The restaurant, the steaks & seafood, the bar, their brunch, the service, everything 1st class. And there are not many places better in the world for dinner at sunset, with Catalina & Santa Barbara islands on the horizon & even an occasional green flash. It's a crime that such a successful, legendary & Loved business could be shut down because of a greedy landlord. Experience it yourself while you can. It's closing in August, 2019, in just about 5 months. It's been so crazy busy since they made the announcement, you better make teser

Best dang crab cake Benedict hands down! The crab cake has flavor like none I've ever had before. Such a shame this place will be closing down in August. A real treat with a great view in classic old school surroundings. Go there before it's gone.

I've had many experiences at Admiral Risty spanning 40 years. This is a local family restaurant for many, having her own rich history, just as she has been a large part of my & multitudes of other families' history. My experiences have varied greatly, & my rating prior was not representative of the sum of those over the years. Above average is the lowest rating of any individual visit, with excellent as the heavier weighted of the sum. I cannot exclude my subjective nostalgia as a factor when I proudly hoist a spinnaker bearing 5 well-earned & deserved stars.
