Tomatillo Mexican Grill

This place does everything we vegans can ask for from a restaurant that also serves meat. They have many, varied and creative options (including hibiscus, a yummy soyrizo/potato, and a tasty al pastor) to give us actual choices and they are sensitive to our needs. Too often we are made to feel like lesser than or an inconvenient obligation instead of what we should be made to feel like: valued customers. Tomatillo gets that and you can tell it right away. And yes, the food is delicious. Like an upscale/more authentic version of Chipotle, but with a cilantro rice and refried beans option that we can actually eat! But, more importantly, the family that runs this establishment does it the right way. From the heart and with all the little touches that separate a corporate entity from a unique, family-run restaurant. Please join me in rewarding that! It’s getting harder and harder to find and it really matters.

lovely place. I’m glad it has vegan options. My friends got the vegan al pastor and they loved it. it is made out of mushrooms. Price is reasonable for the amount of food they gave. the tres leches is bomb

Delicious! I had the vegan crispy tacos with potatoes, so yummy! Friendly service and cute space. Both indoor and outdoor seating.

Super cozy place! I work in the same building and really appreciate the authenticity. The food is great and they have a great meat variety. The meat is extremely tasty and everyone is super friendly which I love. Every now and then I stop by during my lunch for my authentic Mexican food cravings, definitely recommend!

Really great food, my kids got the mini-bowl and loved basics, the tomato rice, the beans, the corn. I got the adult bowls and was very impressed. All the food tasted great and very authentic.

I gave 5-star for atmosphere but note that this is a basic take-out place with basic seats in a hole-in-the-wall location. Perfect for a casual quick bite.

No meat for Lent I came out and tried their shrimp burrito. 10/10.

Excellent! The burrito, horchata, and chips and salsa were great and the staff were friendly. I came with friends and accidentally payed for one of my friend’s food but the staff were quick to refund me for the small mistake. Would definitely come again if I’m in the area!

Better than Terranea! We were staying there and the food was pricy and looked “fine.” We drove 5 minutes to Tomatillo and had absolutely outstanding breakfast and service. Spicy red chilaquiles and huevos a la Mexicana. We’re coming back!

My boyfriend & i are always tired of having to drive out of RPV to get real authentic Mexican food. When we walked in, we were greeted by the staff. They were so kind and generous and patient while we figured out what we wanted. It was soooo good, especially the barbacoa. Truly homemade. Can’t wait to go back! If you’re tired of chipotle, go here!
