Ordered 6 plates for 4 people. One entree each and 2 appetizers. All food came at once and was all plopped in front of us. Hamachi crudo sitting in the sun along with us. No one offered to move umbrellas to put us in the shade, so we asked. There was the order at the beginning and then we basically had no other service. My drink sat completely empty for the last 30 minutes. No offer for coffee or dessert, no bill. It was full but not packed. A normal Sunday morning. The salad was under dressed with little flavor. The hamachi similarly had no flavor (and came alongside hot plates). Thumbs down for us. Would not recommend.

This is my new favorite spot. I’ve come 4 weekends in a row because it’s such good food, atmosphere & service. It’s been consistently good every time I’ve come which is not common in most places. Highly recommend, can’t go wrong with anything on the menu.

I would like to update this review- I won’t change the 2 star rating I gave our Christmas meal, but I want to acknowledge that management did reach out to our group and did a good job listening to what went wrong and genuinely wanted to do better for future visits. I will give Lillian’s another try for brunch or dinner.

This review is only for the set Christmas meal $150/person 2025. Our other experiences with this restaurant have been much more positive. We had a 4 PM reservation and started our meal with 3 shared appetizers- pork loin, poached pear salad, and shrimp cocktail. Restaurant was half full at the time of our seating. The shrimp was so rubbery it was hard to eat and the salad lacked dressing, pork was fine. For mains, 2 people in our group had the prime rib, which was good. My eggplant parmigiana was cold and came with no veggies or accompaniments other than garlic cloves. The red snapper that 2 of our group had was middling. Portion sizes were also ungenerous, especially for the price. Dessert was a choice of beignets or bread pudding. Both were cold and the bread pudding had an unappetizing orange sauce.
Dining room lighting was noticeably dimmed at 4:30, making everything hard to see, especially since there were no lights or candles on the tables. We ate holding our phones, flashlights on, above our food. Inquiry about the lighting led to explanation that this is what they always do once it starts to get dark outside.
All-in-all, this was an unenjoyable and expensive meal, and I would absolutely not return for a set Christmas meal with this restaurant. We returned home and had a bowl of cereal because we really did not get enough of a meal at Lillian’s. Which is a shame, because the dinners, brunches, and bar bites we have had here in the past were pleasant. The hotel and gardens are beautiful, and gracious, and in general, this spot is fantastic for date nights, wedding venues, and family celebrations. Lillian’s either needs to fix this issue or choose not to serve Christmas meals. I feel like Lillian’s should have paid us to be there.

It's WAY too dark inside! Barely able to see your dining partner no less read the menu. The food is very good (but the Peking duck was only fair). Excellent bar.

The setting here is classic california - beautiful plaster walls and exposed wood beams set admist beautiful landscaping. The food was excellent, and our waiter Phil provided thoughtful and attentive service. Would recommend and will be back!

New Year's Eve Fixed Menu.

The night started off with the hostess's telling us that the indoor seating was reserved even though we had reserved indoor seating. They chocked it up to the app not communicating that. We were seated in the tent area and 10 minutes in my wife's dress was getting wet unknowingly because of the rain leaking onto the floor. Food was subpar for what was promised and online it stated a completely different menu. The food overall desperately needed seasoning, lacked originality, had inconsistent portions, and was not what was stated. The amuse bouche (ham and cheese sandwich) was extremely disappointing, looked and tasted like a child made it. The Wagyu beef was not Wagyu (it's obvious if you've ever had it) and the portions were uneven, overcooked, stringy and tough. The salmon was bland had silver skin on it and the sauce was watery with no flavor. The potato and leek soup had way to much truffle oil in it which made it almost inedible. The mushrooms were also bland and were not seasoned, and lacked finesse. The scallops (three with nothing else as an entire), although cooked very well, were drowned in an overly sweet sauce that completely took away from the delicate taste of scallops; it was not an entire! This was not only our New Year's Eve dinner but our 15 year anniversary celebration. We were extremely dissapointed with the professionalism of the staff, the quality of the food, and what we got for the cost. Not sure if the wait and kitchen staff are different for holiday fixed menu's but the whole experience was terrible.

Awesome experience. Due to my error our Christmas Day dinner reservations were cancelled. I hit wrong response in text to confirm our reservation for 8. We arrived, restaurant was packed. The manager found event space was not booked. Quickly set up for dinner. Service snd pre fix menu exceptional. This establishment understands service. They went above and beyond to correct MY error. We dined 3 times over the weekend at Lillian’s during our stay at the Inn. Our servers Tristan, Trajan, & Ilvia all were wonderful. Brunch, Lunch, and dinner were all delicious.

The setting could not have been more beautiful. The food was delicious. The only notable area for improvement was the service. The hostesses spent at least 5-10 minutes looking up tables and answering the phone before even acknowledging our presence. The table service was friendly and helpful, but we had to ask for spoons and refills more than once. The service was fine, but improvement would make this a solid go to

Went there last night for Thanksgiving 11-27-2025. First off, the menu online turned out to be bait and switch, we come to find out its last years menu, the menu for last night was limited with a bunch of rules. One shrimp per person, I am not kidding you. The turkey dinner reminded me of when I was in the Navy and we would have thanksgiving dinner at sea, one of my guest said it was one of the worst meals he’s had. How about this, cold apple pie that tasted and looked like one that came out of a box. Service was awful, 3 things we either asked for or asked her to do she said yes but didn’t follow through. Music sounded like it was a pick up joint.
But now we have a great family memory, of a horrible thanksgiving. I got ripped off.

Honestly the worst meal my family and I have had in a while. Went here for their thanksgiving menu and I kid you not, every single dish was terrible. It was $175 per person and it tasted worse than cafeteria food. First course was a tiny butternut squash soup that was barely 3 teaspoons full, bland and cold. Definitely not advertised as a cold soup. Appetizers to share for the table were a small salad, 1 piece each of somehow overcooked yet cold shrimp, and 1 other appetizer that I can't remember. Turkey dinner entree had cold, mushy green beans, cold dry turkey, cold mashed potatoes, cold overly-sweet instant stuffing, and canned cranberry sauce, all smothered in the most overly-sweet and cold gravy. Not one person at the table finished more than 1/4th of the dish; it was that bad. Dessert was a piece of cold apple pie straight from the fridge. Like seriously are you that lazy that you don't even heat up a piece of premade apple pie in the oven?

Notice a theme? Yeah, maybe sometimes food doesn't come out right, but to have the audacity to serve literally every dish, obviously all premade, without even warming it up in the oven is straight up disrespectful, especially when you're charging $175 a head on a holiday.

Only saving grace is the wait staff were courteous people.

Run, don't walk, away from this place.

Incredible location, wonderful atmosphere, exceptional food. We relaxed with friends for hours on the heated patio, felt no rush, just pure joy and care from our servers and all staff. Even the dogs were happy. Will be back!

Had a wonderful experience this morning from food to service to atmosphere. The food was fresh and delicious, the cocktail variety was above expectations, and the interior decor is beautiful. Trystan was our server and he was super attentive, helpful, and polite, which added to the entire experience. We will definitely be back!
