Excellent service! The fish was very fresh. Serving sizes were generous. Good filling to rice ratio. The restaurant seems to be a small hole in the wall and the ambiance was pretty standard for a sushi restaurant. Prices are fair. I have no complaints and I WILL be back!

Came here on a busy Friday evening; Food still came out on time and it was AMAZING. Great service and even better fish. Will definitely be back!

The vegan sushi was amazing. We had sent a Facebook message to see if they had vegan sushi, they told us they did, and we ordered it and loved it. The service was great. Everyone was friendly. All in all, we were satisfied. :)

Great sushi, service. Very small inside, but very neat place. They made our food as we requested, as we don't like cream cheese with our sushi.

Bonsai sushi is a very decent Japanese sushi eatery in Redding. The ambiance has Japanese decor. The service was prompt, and our server was friendly and helpful. We ordered a variety of dishes, including spicy edamame for an appetizer. The sushi was made well. The sushi rice was not mushy or dry-hard. It was just right. The two sushi rolls we ordered were delicious. The dinner Bento boxes had combinations of teriyaki chicken, veggie and shrimp tempura. The dinner bento boxes were good. The tuna sashimi was frozen, not fresh. The sashimi was not firm, it was soft (frozen). But I still enjoyed having sashimi. Overall, Bonsai is a good Japanese eatery for sushi or Japanese foods such as teriyaki chicken/beef, tempura, etc. Give Bonsai Sushi Fusion a try if you're in Redding.

Affordable sushi and great service!! Max and Kobe are my favorite waiters. They're both friendly and helpful! I ordered the tuna sashimi and bento box from their recommendation and it was amazing. They definitely need a raise!!!;)))

If I could give them a zero I definitely would! The salmon we had in our Mudslide roll had dark bruising and was incredibly MUSHY! This obviously is a farm raised fish, but the there's no excuse for serving that! The sushi chef is very heavy handed with all of his "sauces" and loves to drowned everything in them. Truck stop sushi is a better bet. Now, for the good, our wait staff was incredible. Everyone of them was attentive, precise and on point with their duties! Kudos to them!!!

Our experience at bonsai was the worst! First off our waitress was very rude!! The sushi roll (which she recommended the bonsai roll) we ordered tasted very old and so fishy. We couldn't even eat it. We spit it out in our napkins. When we politely told the waitress about how terrible it was, she went back to the management and yelled "they're trying to get a free sushi roll. They already ate half of it. If I were you, I wouldn't give it to them" making the people in the restaurant turn and look at us, which was so utterly stupid she said that, because we didn't even say we wanted a replacement. We were just telling her that it SUCKED!!! Edamame was soggy and so gross. The eggrolls were completely burnt, and when I asked her about it, she just said "that's how we make them".. Spent over $100 on shitty food. I emailed them to let them know how disappointing our experience was, and they completely ignored us.. Save your money and stomach's because your stomach will be hurting after this Place and go elsewhere!! Trust me! People are saying prices are cheap they run about $19 - $25 for a sushi roll. Which is normally what most sushi restaurants charge. Portion sizes are small so you might be paying a little less, but you're getting a lot less.

Delicious food every single time we go! Service smooth too. Now I'm craving some sushi! Kind of a hole in wall but check it out ... tasty food!

Best sushi in Redding and best Prices! Service could be better but the food is good so it doesn't really matter.

A wonderful small family business. The ma and pa of the shop hand make the rolls. You can even sit up at the sushi bar and have an nice conversation with them while enjoying your meal if you'd like. The service is respectful and the place is clean. The rolls are the best in Redding by far.

I live over an hour away and I still come here. ALLLLLLL of their specialty roll are AMAZINGGGG! I eat the veggie tempura and egg rolls on my drive home. The service and restaurant itself are great. There's nothing to complain about tbh. Every time I come here, it hits the spot right. Love this place.
