Lovely Valentine's Day lunch. Beautiful sunny day so we could enjoy the view. Outstanding dishes - something for everyone. Food was a little slow coming, but waiter apologised and we didn't mind at all. Wish they were open in the evenings, but a great, fun mini-break to UBC and enjoying the campus for a walk afterwards.

Restaurant definitely has a University feel to it, not intimate, but that is part of the charm. Food was good but my entree had the same side as what we had ordered for an appetizer (cauliflower salad). Also the dishes, glass and cutlery were not particularly clean. Kitchen closes at 2pm. So plan for a lunch no later than 1pm.

I highly recommend Sage for a fancier-fare lunch that will still have something on the menu that my smaller-city parents from out of town can find something familiar-sounding from. I am GF and dairy free and I can always find something suitable and delicious. The service is always exceptional (special shout out to Patrick!).

After having worked on campus for almost 5 years this was my first time going to Sage bistro; I wish I'd gone sooner! The quality of the food is outstanding, of good value and the service is excellent. I will definitely go back.

Food is great. Service less so. I am a frequent client, and I must say that everytime I go, I feel I am being reprimanded for something. Could it really be that hard to be "nice" at what is supposed to be the best (at least the most expensive) restaurant on campus? Thank you!

Consistently the best food on UBC campus. Lovely location with a peek a boo view of the mountains to the North. Outstanding food; creatively brought together. Not an extensive menu its just right for its sweet spot of a higher end, healthier, and creatively crafted meal.

Ocean view that was promised in the Yelp ad wasn't realistic. Many tall trees blocked the view. The interior is very esoteric/bland. They were short-staffed. It took us 5 min to get seated and 5 min for a food server to see us and 5 min to get our drinks. Gnocchi sounded great, but both dishes for my mother and son, were soggy/bland. This restaurant may be one of the better ones on campus (supposedly - and perhaps for dinner, instead of lunch), but we left unsatisfied.

This is an elegant place for lunch hidden at UBC. The food are cooked professionally but the portion is a bit small for the price. The server was attentive and considerate and the decor and view out of the window was spectacular. Overall would recommend if you don't mind the price.

A great experience. Patrick delivers amazing service and the staff are friendly. Food was very tasty, somewhat pricey. We each had the onion soup and the halibut as an entree. The food was somewhat salty although delicious. Presentation beautiful. I always enjoy coming to Sage. Thank you!

We were going to Sage for a 60th birthday celebration which the restaurant was aware of. Our server rushed us from the minute we arrived, we all ordered a soup followed by a salad and were amazed when the soup arrived within minutes of the order. Two salads arrived immediately the soup spoons were put down and the other two salads arrived whilst my friends were still eating their soup and so the plates were promptly pushed aside for the salad to fit on the table. Finally my friends salad plate was removed while she still had some bread in her hand. What was supposed to be a leisurely, enjoyable celebration was a very rushed affair with us out of the restaurant in an hour!

Our lunch was superb. The clams were cooked to perfection. The halibut was moist and tender. The chocolate cheesecake was mouth watering. Our waiter was extremely knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. I'm sorry I didn't get her name. She has worked at the restaurant for 13 years. I would definitely recommend this restaurant. A repeat is in the works. I booked through OpenTable and didn't get my 100 points. This is my only complaint.

I hadn't been to Sage for many years but again found it highly commendable. Being in July is was quieter than I remembered, having previously visited during term time. The server and service was quick and efficient. Both main dishes - the Wild Mushroom Risotto and the Grilled Heart of Romaine were very tasty and plentiful for a luncheon meal. I liked that the tables were well spaced giving a good sense of privacy. I would certainly recommend this restaurant.
