Jamie, our server, was a sight for sore eyes. Food was plentiful and fairly priced. As to the gourmet aspect in regard to their omelette preparations, let’s just say a little above average. Coffee Mugs cool looking, coffee quality slightly above average to be nice.
They have their own personable place, and apparently many glowing reviews. Does it beat Denny’s? No doubt. Black Bear yes.
Will I stop by again, doubtful. Service right on the money. 4 Stars.
Best place in town for breakfast.
Love this place. Food is always amazing. Staff is super friendly. Clean.
WOW, you won't find better.
Was a Jeffs fan for over 10 years. Last two times that I had breakfast, the hashbrowns were overcooked and didn't seem freshly cooked. Sausage was undercooked. Won't be back
One of if not the top, for local old school Redding charm and great food.
The food was very bland , gave it a try 2x but both times we left disappointed.
The chef thinks it’s ok to give burnt hard food to paying customers. Won’t expect us to come back, this place used to be good but it has gone downhill in the last 2 months. All of our families food was burnt or thrown in the take out plate.
Great place for breakfast
Visiting from Oregon and needed to stop for breakfast. What a great place. A cozy atmosphere with a train traveling the dining room. Breakfast had generous portions with delicious food and great pricing. I loved this place.

This is a complicated review to write but here goes. I ordered the 6 oz steak and egg breakfast, my wife ordered the ranchers cheese steak sandwich. My steak was:
A) microwaved and had no flavor
B) waaaaay overcooked n tough as worn shoe leather
C) somehow managed to be overcooked yet cool when served
My wife's cheese steak was absolutely perfect and very good.
The service was top notch the waitress kept our cups full constantly.
I gave 1 star for atmosphere because the dining room had a strong smell of urea.
Bless their hearts the food wasn't for me. Big portions though, great service cozy atmosphere. Some food was overcooked though but I know some people like it.
Enjoyed breakfast and conversation. Place has comfortable, spacious seats&booths for eating.
You know it good when the parking lot starts to fill up fast= snooze you lose!
French toast was fluffy, light and good. Staff is charming and efficient.
Great place, people, atmosphere. Also if you look up they have trains and tracks going around the ceiling= conversation piece with the young ones & young at heart.
Went there with two older friends and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The food was excellent, friendly service, they were busy and it took a bit however all our different items ie lunch, breakfast, fish were all very well prepared hot and delicious. Can't wait to return!
Delicious food at good prices! I really liked their Chicken and Waffles. The chicken was juicy, well seasoned, and had a crunchy, not-so-dense breading. It went well with the fluffy waffles. 💯💯
My girlfriend and I enjoyed all the dishes we ordered suchs as the omelettes and the ham and eggs.
Both times we visited were really busy! Almost every table was occupied, but we still got our food quickly and felt like the waitress was attentive to all our needs.
This is one of best diners I've been to in terms of food, service, and overall vibe. We will come back if we visit Redding again
