Looking at the ratings of this place, I’m not too sure what people are used to with a mom and pop Vietnamese restaurant, but I just had one of the best bowls of pho that I’ve had in a long time. Nothing fancy but very clean and the Mom was super nice and kept our waters full and the dad came out and made sure that we were enjoying our soups. I was joking around laughing, it was a great experience and most importantly, our food was incredible. It’s not a five star atmosphere that people are used to, but I’m giving it five so that I can help boost the rating of this place because we almost overlooked it to go to a higher rated place. Redding, you have a gem here!!!!

We just moved here from the Seattle and we’re borderline depressed with the selection of Vietnamese food options. Until we found this spot. One of the BEST vermicelli bowls we’ve ever had, ever. And we’ve eaten a lot of Vietnamese food. So impressed we got food to go and can’t wait to come back and try more. Hands down the best spot in the Redding area.

I’ve got the other spots here in Redding , they all good too but the flavor of their soup is super tasty and delicious! I travel a lot for my work and eat all over but I keep coming to this spot because the food is delicious! I never take time to write reviews because o forget that I can write about places that I eat at , but wanted to take time tonight and share my eating experience and the goodness , my belly is always full here and what I have left o share with the homeless . ?

Hands down the best Vietnamese food I’ve had in the Redding area. This is one of those places you know will be good just by looking at the sign.
I ordered the Thit Nuong grilled pork banh mi sandwich, and a Vietnamese iced coffee. The sandwich itself was filling and the iced coffee was delicious on a particularly hot day.
The staff were very polite and accommodating. It wasn’t very busy when I came in around 2pm, maybe around 5 other people here. Took about 10-15 to get my food. Total for the meal was about $19.50.
I would recommend trying this place out if you haven’t had Vietnamese food before.
I've been here 2 times. 1st time was about 6 yrs ago, and the 2nd time was couple days ago. Both times they were never busy. Despite that we were the only ones there, their pho has to be the better ones in town. We've tried pho at almost every restaurant in town and this place had the better broth taste. Mind you though, everyone has different likings of pho. We like more of a hearty, fatty, oily pho. Restaurant style r more clear broth. Portion size for pho bowl is actually not that big compared to other restaurants.
It was our 1st time trying Bun Bao Hue ever, and this place gave us a good 1st time taste experience. The broth was very spicy, but so good.
Overall, their prices are more on the pricey side compared to other Asian restaurants in town, but definitely worth it I would say.

I’ve been coming here for years. The lady and her husband are always there and are so kind. GREAT FOOD. #38 is my favorite. They are the only ones there usually. It isn’t speedy but I always good. Don’t waste your time worrying and reading one time visitors bad reviews. The food is worth it in my opinion.

I came in for my first time cause I have been always wanting to try this place. My boyfriend and I got seated and ordered. We both ordered a large pho but when it came back to us, our bowls were slightly different sizes but I brushed it off cause I didn’t want to be seen as one of those people. The food was great, but at the end of it when we paid, I was ready to leave a tip (I hadn’t got to my bag since the lady was wrapping up my food) but as soon as she came she bluntly asked “no tip” I had thought she said “no take” for the Thai tea we drank so I said no but then she said it again and it got to my head she was saying “no tip” after I said “I am going to leave a tip” and she continued to say “you eat here but leave no tip” very rudely. I explained nicely that I was while standing up to get my bag (my boyfriend had it) but she was kind of standing in my way and she was still saying it very loud in front or other customers so I felt embarrassed and confused. She was very rude at the end of things. But in the end I left her a tip as I planned to.
