Good restaurant and close to my home.
I know I should have checked the reviews before going in. I know there are good reviews as well however 99% of those are by non-Indian customers. I just moved to the area and was running a few errands and happened to stumble upon this restaurant. I was so excited to eat Indian food after being in Redding for two weeks and no kitchen. I was greeted with no smile, a very tired lady, and then a man who was on his phone with an earpiece - who just handed me the menu from a feet away. Please note, I am a very pleasant, soft spoken with a warm smile always on my face. I ordered chai and was given dark black color chai, you could tell its been sitting for a long time. I gently and politely asked if the tea was made a few hours ago. She without hesitation, rolled her yes and said they made it this morning and that it how all the restaurants do (I was there around 7pm). I was still going to pay for it but was given such an attitude the whole time i was there. I called out for the man more than 10 times to order something to drink. Even the uber guy picking up food noticed and told him I was calling. After ridiculously waiting for 15 mins, he walked to me with the check and lady from the other side with my to-go order which I ordered for my employees. I told them that I called out more than 10 times, was just ignored and that I was shocked to see them treating their own people with no respect. If they are the owners, I pray they be reminded of basics of humanity and customer service, especially food industry. And if they are employees, God bless the owners.
I would NEVER go to this place. (This is my first negative review ever. I am kind of a breed to hit “like”on all tiktok videos)
In the end, I would say if they didn’t mean ill.
“May God deal with you in the same manner you dealt with me” (I was really hurt and humiliated)
My son was craving paneer, so we decided to visit this restaurant. Since it was the 4th of July, they were offering a special buffet — unfortunately, it had very limited options. The saag paneer was watery, and the gulab jamun was undercooked and looked quite unappetizing. The vegetable pakoras tasted okay but were cold and dried out. Even the pickles seemed stale.
As my son wasn’t feeling well and really wanted paneer tikka, we politely asked if we could order à la carte. Initially, the staff hesitated, saying others might request the same. After explaining our situation, they agreed — but sadly, the paneer was again watery and overloaded with onions.
The staff seemed quite indifferent — no smiles, and an overall unfriendly attitude. The usual buffet is priced at $14, but that day they charged $24.99, which felt unjustified given the poor quality and limited variety.
To make matters worse, the plates weren’t properly cleaned or dried. We also noticed several customers leaving after seeing the buffet spread.
Overall, it was a disappointing experience.
★☆☆☆☆ Worst Indian Food Experience in the U.S.
I’ve traveled across 31 states in America and tried Indian food in so many places—but Priya Indian Cuisine in Redding was by far the worst experience I’ve had.
The food was stale and tasted far from fresh, like it had been sitting around for hours. Nothing had the rich flavor or freshness you’d expect from an Indian restaurant. To make it worse, it was shockingly overpriced for the poor quality.
The service was slow, and while the staff wasn’t rude, they weren’t attentive either. The atmosphere and seating area also felt dated and not at all worth the high price they charge.
Overall, it was a huge disappointment—especially for someone who genuinely enjoys and appreciates Indian cuisine. I would not recommend this place to anyone looking for good, fresh, or authentic food.
Worst Indian food ever. Tamarind rice , lemon rice , aloo gobhi all inedible!
These guys need to be shut down for serving such crap food.
Customer service is non existent , when called about missing food in the uber order she says “My husband is very busy so forgot . Why are u so serious” 😳
Plssss for the sake of humanity plssss close down!
All cold food. Even after asking for hot bread, it took 15-20 min.
Buffet not worth it. All dishes were cold.
The best part of whole buffet is - watermelon and water.
Wouldn't recommend it.
Good food.

Terrible service. I ordered two ala carte meals (that say with a side of rice and a singular nan, which I have ordered multiple times in the past and it’s been THAT) and a separate side of nan… only received the order of nan as the app I paid for, and one butter chicken and mushroom mutter without the rice and Nan. I spent about $40 without delivery and tip. $51.00 later, when we called, the lady said it doesn’t come with it. I can screenshot the menu, and also base it off past experience.. yall are ruthless and rude. Stealing from other hard workers to make a buck.
Terrible service I seen in my life
Please don't visit this place

The buffet selection was subpar and the food bland, yet left an awful salty taste in my mouth and completely parched. I won't be going back.

Award for the rudest host in the entire world goes to the guy working in afternoon. Later, We found out that he is the owner of this restaurant. I couldn’t believe that he would himself bring down his business down to this level. Yuckiest food and service. Don’t waste your money here ever!!
