I always go in and they say “what are you having?” I say “surprise me.” Every time it’s soo good. This is the coziest diner in town, with surprisingly original takes of American diner food. Hands down the best cheeseburger (get the Gusher). This husband wife team has the best sandwiches, soups and burgers for lunch. I’ve had the breakfast on Saturday mornings and it’s all American classics. A small diner with big heart and a talented team of hippies serving up the best food in Redding.

When me and my lady walked into the establishment with our son, he was automatically buzzing from the atmosphere of this place! The waiters sat us down and withing a few minutes we had menues and drinks. There were probably 20 patrons being managed by 3 people. 2 waiters and 1 cook. We ordered our food, I got the ham and cheese omelet and my lady got the combination omelet. For about 40 minutes we watched the cook bust out orders like a champ by himself and played the various little peg board games they had around. The vibe was very homely and the food was DELICIOUS! Huge portions for the price!

I am a very good cook so dining out can be hard for us, but this place is ALWAYS a hit! I try something new every time and I have yet to find something sub par. Heads up- this food is meant to be enjoyed and not tracked for calories ;)

I come here quite often the staff is amazing.
Food is cooked upon order.
They do get quite busy but food is definitely worth the wait in my opinion.
Its a family friendly joint if you come in enough you definitely we part of the tye dye family.
Food is not super expensive here me and my husband can come here and eat and spend less than 35 bucks which now a days most sit down places you can't do that.
I would definitely highly recommend coming and checking it out for yourselves.

A bit of a old hippie, the name attracted my attention, glad it did. Three of us had three different breakfast. All prepared on a small grill just a step away from our seats at the bar (maybe a few steps). The food was tasty and hot of the grill.
Tye Dye Cafe is tiny. We sat at the counter and conversed with the staff as much as each other. They are a great group, smiling while busy. A restaurant this size has to feed you quickly and get you back in next time to stay in business, Tye Die does both.
We will be back.
