My wife and I decided to try Taroko for the first time and it was nothing short of fantastic. The service was phenomenal. Our waitress Lai was perfect. She made frequent (but not too many) check ins making sure we were enjoying our food and if we needed anything else. We had our newborn with us and they were more than accommodating. We asked for a corner spot in case my wife needed to feed our baby...we didn't feel judged or like anyone even paid attention to the fact we were dining with a baby. All the staff were very friendly, the decor and atmosphere were top notch. Now to the food...WOW! We started off with the peppered tuna, which was delicious. The tuna melted in your mouth and the wasabi sauces were delicious, with a kick! I had the shaking beef and my wife had the Korean Kalbi Bowl. Both dishes were amazing. The shaking beef was very rich with flavor and the Kalbi Bowl was very refreshing and was an adventure of flavor. The dessert was its own experience in itself. We ordered the panna cotta and the yuzu cheesecake. The panna cotta was rich with vanilla but had a crisp after taste from the berry sauce on top. The cheesecake was very light and had a wonderful tartness to it. We will return many times over again. 5 Stars.

Food was phenomenal; the absolute best we've had in Redding. Service was phenomenal: we were walk-ins on Valentine's Day and Frank gave us excellent service at the bar while he worked in overdrive to make drinks for everyone at the same time. Scallops were tasty and not at all overcooked, honey glazed prawns were flawless. Wagyu burger had excellent flavor and also cooked superbly, but the truffle fries stole the show! Every drink was amazing and we plan to go back to try all the items on the menu and drink menu. Piano player was very talented and added to the ambience; singer was unfortunately not as good.

I can't say enough great things about this restaurant in Downtown Redding! From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere is inviting and beautifully designed, creating the perfect setting for a wonderful dining experience. The food is consistently outstanding—every dish I've tried has been bursting with flavor and crafted to perfection.
The service is top-notch; very attentive and friendly!
I can’t forget to mention their cocktails— perfectly balanced, and absolutely delicious.
This place has quickly became one of my all-time favorites. Whether you're out for a casual dinner or a special occasion, this is the spot to go. Highly recommend!

I love this place. The owners have an amazing story of how this restaurant came to be. They are local people who work hard and have made a very special place to eat and hang out. I think it is one of the nicest restaurants in our town. I hope you enjoy it as much as i do.

A really nice experience overall with thoughtful and detail oriented staff! The live piano is a nice touch for a Saturday evening as well. There are many ways to have your food be vegan as well!

We were thoroughly impressed, a, quick stop turned into a special date night. I tried 3 cocktails and they were the best of their type I've ever had. The wagyu burger and kimchi rice were so yum! It was so good it'll be a must stop on our travels going forward 100%

My daughter who just drove up from another part if the state 2 days ago, and husband ate the chicken appetizer lsst night, and also commonly had veggies in their dinner, and got food poisoning. I had the calamari. I had zero problems there. 6 hours later it started, when the vomiting and gastro symptoms started, and 24 hours later they are still sick. No fever. No flu symptoms.
It's not the flu. It's disappointing to spend 200 dollars and get that.

We went on a Saturday for lunch. Jake was our server and he was outstanding. Ask for him! He answered all of our questions and did not rush our service. Since Dim Sum is offered on Saturday, we started with a couple of shareables.
The scallion pancake and spicy wontons were excellent.
I had the pork belly bowl with fried rice and a side of kimchi...the taste was spot on and quality was wonderful. My parents had Takaro chicken and teriyaki chicken and they felt the same. The quality and taste are great.
We will be going back again.
Thank you again, Jake, for the wonderful experience.

Hong kong noodles were bland and dry. the dessert cheese cake is $10 and the size a freakin costco sample, literally the size of my finger. the flavor is pretty mediocre as someone who has had experience with japan cheesecakes this was extremely disappointing and honestly quite laughable.
