The food sucks. The waitress was super nice and friendly and the restaurant was very clean but the food just plain and boring. Everything on their menu you can make at home for less. Taiwan beef bowl was a joke. Order it and you’ll see.

Asian fusion, emphasis on the fusion. We ordered a few dishes to share. The Xiao long baos (soup dumplings) tasted of big box store freezer section options, not what you expect from a restaurant. The dipping sauce didn't have black vinegar. It was more of a modified potsticker sauce with soy sauce base. The bok choy, was, by far, the highlight of the meal. It was well seasoned and perfectly cooked. The Taiwanese Beef Noodle was NOT Taiwanese in flavor profile. The broth was overly salty while still managing to be bland. The beef was tough and dry, almost jerky in texture, no collagen or slow cooked flavor.Lastly, the crispy pork bowl didn't feel "Asian" save for the soy sauce and rice. The pork belly was well seasoned, but overcooked. Bits of the ends weren't crispy, but often chewy and nearly burnt.Staff was courteous, helpful, and responsive. I have some food allergies that were handled very well. The decor and atmosphere was relaxing, great for conversing with dining companions.Dietary restrictions: I called ahead and spoke to them about my food allergies. Lai was very helpful and knowledgeable about their menu and capabilities. She recommended we make a reservation so the allergies could be noted. They were great with accommodating my serious food allergies to provide a positive dining experience.

First time visiting Taroko Asian Bar and Grill. We dropped in on a weekend afternoon, around 2 pm. There was plenty of seating available at that time. We were greeted immediately and promptly seated. I like the atmosphere of the restaurant. We placed our order for drinks and lunch. We didn't have too long a wait for either to be served up. Our server was the bartender, as well. The drinks and the food were well presented. The food had good flavor and we all enjoyed our selections. I have to say, the brussel sprouts were very good. At least to us. Service was good and the cost was acceptable. It was a good lunch.

A previous reviewer had mentioned sticking with just the appetizers which is probably sound advice. I started with the spicy wontons that were claimed by our over friendly and effusive server to be the best and they would "blow my mind". I really feel he needs to try spicy wontons at another restaurant in order to get some perspective. The wontons skins are very thin and do not have the softness you would expect added to which the filling is like a hard ball which is not a great feel in the mouth. Spice wise it was ok but nothing special. There were other disappointments in the food namely the Kimchi fried rice with crab, it was surprisingly bland and flavourless. There seemed to be a real lack of seasoning. I had the shaking beef which was fine. Sorry that's the best I can say about that dish. I must admit that when walking in I was surprised by the ambiance of the place, it was quite modern but felt welcoming and warm. Oh, skip the desserts they were not worth it. Overall it's a miss!
