The Dip is one of the better bars/places to hang out at in Redding. I'm from the Bay Area and used to enjoy going to shows pretty frequently. The Dip has been suiting my needs because they host a variety of bands (reggae, jazz, metal, bluegrass, hip hop, etc) as well as a lot of different types of events like drag shows, trivia, silent disco, karaoke, etc. The staff there are all super friendly and lively- and their drinks are great, what more can you ask for!

My friend and I were walking around downtown hitting all the bars and we decided to check out the dip. We got there and I had to use the lady's room so I went and we came out of the bathroom and looked at the prices and what they had to offer and decided to leave and go home. When we left the bouncer decided to be extremely rude and said "thanks for coming in and just using the bathroom. That helps us a lot appreciate it". I'm sorry, we walked in, saw what they had to offer and just decided to go home. Poor service. Yikes...Do better and people would want to stay

I went to The Dip for the first time last night to see a show, I had such a great experience! My friend I was going with had a foot injury so I reached out on Facebook a week before to see if there was anything they could do about possibly holding a seat for us, or at least for my friend, I received a response right away that said absolutely they could save 2 seats for us at the bar. I checked in a few days before just to confirm it was all a go and again received a message right away stating to just give our names and we will be brought to our seats. I was a little skeptical this would actually happen because I understand things fall through the cracks. To my surprise when we gave our names we were walked to our seats right at the bar that had been reserved. I was so relieved and so grateful!! The venue itself was great! Everyone who worked there was so nice and approachable. I felt right at home! The sound and lighting was perfect! We both had so much fun! The venue itself is so up close and personal we were able to take photos with the lead singer and even chat with him for a while after the show! We were both so happy with our experience and will be coming back!

This place is a gem and just what Redding needs. They have a dope selection of great beers on tap, the most pinball machines within 50 miles, and awesome and friendly staff. But most importantly, THEY BRING LIVE MUSIC INTO REDDING!!!! The stage is well set up and the sound is run well and the calendar is impressively loaded with really dope bands. So kudos to whoever is doing the booking. Thank fecking Christ there's someone bringing music into Redding that you can enjoy no matter what you believe in.
