Amanda was our waitress and she was simply amazing. She was kind, and even recommended some cool spots for us tourists! The food was incredible. I had the Enchiladas Rancheros and the chicken was super juicy. My boyfriend had the Pork Chile Verde and the pork was so fresh and flavorful. Will DEFINITELY be returning and requesting Amanda!! :)

The good;Server was fantastic- anticipated everything and super friendly.Chips were light and crispy.The not so good;Partner had tamale and relleno combo. Masa tasted old and relleno egg coating was more like a heavy omelette.I had a special quesadilla- with chicken. The chicken was bland, but made up with the other ingredients.Clientele was all older non-Hispanic and the food reflected this.They’ve been in business since 1978 and it clearly needs a bit of updating.

Even though they were very busy, we were able to find a parking place.Kid-friendliness: When we were there for lunch, two infants were there. The waitresses went out of their way to take care of them and their parnts.Wheelchair accessibility: A woman who was in a wheelchair was eating directly across from us and the staff were very accommodating to her and her family.

I have been going to Torilla Flats since I was a little girl. 45 years later and I still LOVE it! I recently have been going in weekly and Amanda, (server/bartender) is a big reason for that. She is so nice, efficient, and she makes me feel special. I wanted to give her a shout out because good help can be overlooked and it shouldn’t. Eating alone in a restaurant can be uncomfortable, but because of a server just remembering me and treating me like family, I can’t miss an opportunity to dine in. Thank you Amanda. I also have to give a shout out to the owner. She is somewhere close to the age of 100 and is still sharp and managing this gem of business. I remember her from age 10 or so and she is still awesome! Good job! Thank you too! I seen a big red tin can that I recognized from when I started going in as a child. The can was at a garage sale and I did not hesitate to get it. It says tortilla flats on it and I remember it in the restaurant. This tin can is precious to me, as I ate in there with my Grandma who I loved so much. If she were still here she would be 117 years old. The can is special because we both used to eat together in Tortilla Flats with that can on display. The owner should be so proud of the memories she created for so many people! I always ask about her and always get a good report. I am hoping I see her one of these days so I can tell her so many thoughts and give her so mucany thank you’s. Also, I hope she knows how uniquely special Amanda is. I worked as a server/ bartender the majority of my life and I know a good one when I see one. Amanda is a gem!

Waitress was not very attentive. Forgot appetizers and tried to bring with meal and then got upset when I refused them. After that I had to chase down bus boys to get drink refills etc. I have eaten here sense I was just a kid and I'm 54 now. So I've been a loyal customer. But there is no excuse for the waitress we had.
The waitress was very friendly but that salsa was the worst I have ever eaten in my life. It tasted like they dumped a can of tomatoes in the bowl and that’s it. We decided to leave since the salsa was horrible. If you can’t get the salsa right then I’m not trying the food.
