bb.q Chicken Redondo Beach

There's a lot of places that do Korean Fried Chicken in the South Bay, but the bbq.chicken chain does it, in my humble opinion, the best. It's double fried, so the chicken is super crunchy and super moist. I always get the wings and I love the spicy original and the galbi style. Not the biggest fan of the Caribbean style, but it is a Korean chain, go figure. The Redondo beach location is only for takeout.

I ordered pick-up through the bb.q chicken website (which is powered by Doordash). Went to pick it up and they had given my order to someone else. When I asked for a refund or to have my order remade, they refused and said that they couldn't do either of those things! They told me to call the number on my order confirmation....which was the number to that store. They then told me I would have to contact Doordash for a refund. So I lost both my food and my money because of the mistake of the store (I have not received any refund from Doordash). There is zero accountability with with this store, and so I will not be eating from this place again.

Unfortunately, I have a short lunch period and there aren’t many choices around. Bb.q Chicken was one of my 2 options so I gave them a try. The wait time to place an order was just 2 minutes or so, and guy in the back was very friendly & helpful. I placed my order and went to do a quick snack run while the food was being freshly made. I came back and my food was almost ready - about 15 min later. I am glad they have an app so next time I come, I can order in advance and just pick up the food.

Great Korean style chicken wings. Great flavors and portions. This is the second time we have ordered from them. Both times were great. The only down side is they have a very small dine in area. That said we usually get it to go so it’s not a big deal. I’d recommend them, if you like wings and Korean flavors you should give them a try.

Both orders of chicken had a weird, unappetizing aftertaste. Ended up throwing away the chicken after 1-2 pieces (wasted $30). Fries and rice were good.
