I came for Brunch on a Saturday and it was fantastic! The staff was so accommodating and kind. From the wonderful hostess Emma to the bartender and all the servers I was really felt to made to feel welcome, big thanks to manager Janae as well! The drinks and food were INCREDIBLE I highly recommend the Bloody Mary, thank you Gus! Such a nice happy establishment and so happy to see it flourishing in the riviera. Thank you Beach Life Grotto for such an amazing experience!

Amazing whole snapper! The jasmine rice and the mango/papaya salad mix all together were incredible. We came with no plans and just stopped by — and we left very impressed! The flavors were perfectly balanced, the presentation was beautiful, and the staff was so welcoming. Definitely one of those unexpected gems that make your day. We’ll absolutely be back!

I've had breakfast, lunch, and dinner here. The location is easy to find, but unfortunately parking isn't. The restaurant layout has an open air upper deck. Perfect for summer time. When you first arrive you're met by a hostess who is very polite and welcoming.
I've enjoyed the bar and the bartender is super friendly and knowledgeable. I prefer the upper deck. They even have an elevator in addition to stairway access to the upper level. The food is very good here and so is the service. All the servers that I've encountered have been very friendly, prompt, and attentive. One server that has waited on me most often said her name is
Zohra. The food she's recommended has been very good. Since I enjoy trying new things that keeps me coming back.

Jeb is HANDS DOWN the best waiter I’ve ever come in contact with. (I worked as a waitress for over 10 years). He is so kind, leads with love and energy and really sees people. He treated us with so much respect and humor! The food and drinks were great but Jebadiah is what we will come
Back for over and over again! Also, the rooftop bar is the only one we know of in riviera village and is an entire vibe!

Went there at 2:00 on a Sunday to be told it was just the happy hour menu. The menu wasn’t impressive but because we were hungry we ordered the bread and drinks. Both took forever to come and both were just okay. Very slow service. Seems odd to not offer a full lunch menu at that time of day on a Sunday.

Ordered scallops and dish arrived with only 3 of them. Another order was the pan fried Halibut that was difficult to cut. Wine list is sparse but upstairs seating was nice.

Tucked into the heart of Redondo Beach’s bustling Riviera Village, Beachlife Groto is a fresh eat among the local dining spots, bringing a cool, coastal flair to the scene. We headed straight for the rooftop dining area, one of the two floors they offer, and it was the perfect choice—open, airy, and buzzing with the vibrant energy of the neighborhood. The staff were super welcoming, striking that ideal balance of attentive and laid-back, and our food arrived crazy fast. The California-style seafood menu had us hooked from the start, and we dove right in with Peruvian scallops that were amazed by a bold, flavorful curry sauce—a total standout. Pair that with their fantastic sourdough, and we were already sold.
The main event didn’t disappoint either. The steamed clams and mussels were fresh and perfectly cooked, but the branzino stole the show—tender, flaky, and paired with grains that made every bite feel just right. The whole experience was wrapped in the lively, beachy vibe of Riviera Village, making it a night to remember. Bonus points: parking was a breeze with plenty of metered spots in a nearby lot, so no circling around in frustration. If you’re craving seafood with great service and a chill atmosphere, Beachlife Groto is the spot to hit in Redondo Beach. Definitely worth a visit!

Wonderful place! I asked for a recommendation between salmon and chicken and he gave me all the details on how their chicken had 24 hour prep involved and it truly was delicious. I believe it was the owner an older gentleman who came up to each table and chatted with us. Everyone was so pleasant and the food was top notch.

Came here for dinner with my husband and 1 year old. Food took 45+ minutes to arrive. We ordered the cabbage appetizer (it was… just ok) the scallop dish and the fish of the day. Scallop dish was sad - it’s three small scallops (not sea scallops) with three potato chips and some brown goo. Scallops were overcooked on top of it. But the kicker was the fish dish - it was sprinkled with inedible ‘wood chips’ that turned out to be incorrectly cooked artichoke leaves. Both we and table next to us called out that these were inedible. In response, the restaurant manager offered to bring my one year old ice cream on the house (no my 1 year old doesn’t need ice cream). By that time we had to go because the food took so long that we couldn’t even send the fish back, so the restaurant gladly charged us full price for inedible fish and sent us on our way. I mean whatever I don’t care about $40 but feels like crappy service. The highlights were a very nice attentive waiter, the kids chicken meal, and delicious cocktails. But overall crappy experience. Would definitely not eat here again.

BLG is the new hot spot in the village with incredible service and amazing seafood. The location is on the west side of Catalina at Avenida del Norte. There is a seamless flow between the indoor space the outdoor areas that create multiple warm unique intimate spaces throughout the levels. Fresh seafood and great drinks and service really stand out at Beach Life Grotto. There is plenty of fish on the menu, and the oysters are superb. There are some unexpected flavor combinations and the chef is not afraid to take some chances which is very welcome. I don't recall trying a trout dip this good anywhere, scallops are very fresh and delicious, even something simple like the bread is a must try. The service is outstanding.. Jebediah, Ricari, Ryan.. the entire staff here is engaging, friendly, knowledgeable and they go that extra mile to make sure you have a great experience. Prices are not low but you are getting top quality ingredients here and a beautiful room that exudes understated tasteful beach elegance... combined with A plus service I don't have any complaints. Coming into the nice weather months the BL grotto is a great place to gather in the Village and enjoy one of the newest and best restaurants in the area.

Second time at BeachLife Grotto and officially obsessed. The clams and mussels come swimming in this rich, garlicky, buttery broth that should be illegal—it’s that good. Pro tip: don’t trust yourself around the bread. It’s deadly in the best way and you’ll be mopping up every last drop.
Cocktails? Dangerous. Balanced, bold, and sexy—especially anything Ryan’s shaking up behind the bar. His pours are strong, his banter’s sharper, and the whole vibe feels like a locals-only escape you almost don’t want to share.
This spot hits every time. Already planning my third visit.
