It's a great location, and our table overlooked the beach right there so we could watch surfers and kids playing in the sand. The food quality, though, is not worth the prices. Had a beet salad, which was actually very large (server had indicated it was small, but it easily could've fed two or three people) but it wasn't that flavorful. Asparagus was mushy, mashed potatoes were lumpy, but not in a good way, and the prime rib was just so so. Nothing like you would get at Ruth's Chris or Lowery‘s (yes, their food prices are going to be higher than Chart House but it was kind of Sizzler-esq food.) If you are a wine drinker, they do have an extensive selection of wines, both by the glass and by the bottle, so there's that. Just a so-so experience... Disappointing because it's such a great location.
Let me tell you about the food The atmosphere and the environment were fantastic. The drinks were out of this world, our waiter Eric with a C was excellent. His recommendations for dinner were spot on, so the question would be what I recommend this restaurant to a friend, so let me say this, not that I recommended it, but a double recommended it
We have been going to The Chart House in Redondo Beach for more than 40 years and it has always been a sincere pleasure to write outstanding reviews until now. Sadly, the service on our most recent visit was less than stellar. Our server swooped in and swooped out from time to time never really showing any genuine warmth or desire to serve. Even worse, one of our entrees was over cooked and needed to be sent back to the kitchen and my entree was served cold. This restaurant has so many good qualities but, all that disappears in the face of uneven service!
Great experience overall, my girl friends and I had the most amazing time watching the sunset.
The food was mediocre. The service was mediocre. The price was high. The view was great. Maybe next time I will just go to the beach.
The Callahan cut for Prime Rib probably end cut even though it's supposed to be medium rare Was a tad too chewy on some part. Server just ok. Not understanding we need chopsticks to ear seared ahi and sashimi appetizers for entrees Took away all chopsticks and I have to wait a while for her to come back around. We are regulars and she's very new to us.
I've had good experiences at The Chart House in the past, but unfortunately last night was not one of them. I made a reservation for three to celebrate a Birthday, but there was no acknowledgment of the occasion at the end. I chose not to order desserts as the dinner was very mediocre. Service was extremely slow—not necessarily the fault of the server—but clearly something was off behind the scenes. One appetizer arrived before the main course, and the second didn't come until everything else was served, which was lukewarm at best. The second appetizer, mussels, came in a flavorless , also lukewarm broth. This was a disappointing night overall. I rarely write reviews, but this restaurant feels like it's in need of stronger management and attention to detail. I hope they can turn it around.
Lovely choice for a special occasion. The view is stunning and the food/service were fantastic.
We really enjoyed the Father's Day pre-fix meal. Good quality and great value. Excellent service.
So great! We thought it might be overrated and just paying for the view, but was not the case. We loved everything about it, the food , the view and the service!

The food was incredible. The Crab Cakes in particular were exquisite. Beautiful romantic dinner on the water
The beer we ordered came in a small glass and wasn't even filled to the brim —Not good! Chopped salad had huge chunks of lettuce and vegetables, nothing chopped about it . The Ahi tuna was better, but not as good as what they served a year or two ago Bok choy was grilled and difficult to cut through with a knife. Needed more sauce. The beer served is only about 10 ounces this began our meal on a bad note.
The valet parking guys are so rude
That kind the people doesn’t have customers service
Loved this place. My First time here. The flavor of the food was amazing. But the waitress forgot our appetizer.
Our table view was very nice by the window. A little hot though.
Service: Was very slow. Took about 25 minutes to even get water and order drinks.
Then took another 25 minutes to order food. When got the water, we were served the complimentary bread with butter. Since it took so long to order food, we ate more bread than we wanted to, because we were hungry. The complimentary bread and sesame crackers were good.
When the food was ready, only the fish was served. My beets bowl was not served for about 15 minutes when waiter saw me with my hand on ny chin tired of waiting.
Waiter only apologized one time, when he took food order 50 minutes after we arrived.
He didn't even bother to apologize again when they didn't bring my beet bowl out, which looked like was missed to be served whem the fish was served.
We still tipped, a lower tip but we tipped. But really, should habe not
Bad dinner sitting there waiting to get any attention at all. We were nice and polite tje whole time, but not happy.
I did see the server go to some tables more frequently, like serving preffered customers better......so, definitely do not recommend this place. The food and service are mediocre.
DRINKS ORDERED:
Mango Mojito- Not good at all, no flavor. Only tasted like soda water.
Cucumber Martini- Was good
FOOD ORDERED:
We got the beets bowl, was good and light.
We got the Seabass with lobster risotto- WAS NOT GOOD- For the price of almost $60 for it, you would expect an actual flavored dish. The lobster risotto had a couple of tiny lobster pieces. Also, we were not asked how to cook the fish. The waiter recommended to get risotto from another dish without explaining that price differences would apply (not to be cheap, but these things need to be clarified to customers. It is not ethical to suggest changes without clarifying changes in advertised price).
