The food here is phenomenal — the chicken tikka masala and garlic naan are honestly some of the best I’ve had anywhere. The cooking is absolutely top-tier.
But the service is a whole different story. Every time I place a take-out order, it feels like they forget about me, and the wait is always much, much longer than what they quote. This last time, I’m pretty sure my order never even got started — after waiting for what felt like over an hour, I ended up just dipping. (thankfully I hadn't paid yet)
If you want to enjoy this place, get delivery. (from uber eats or postmates) Seriously. I’m convinced they prioritize delivery orders while the take-out folks can get unapologetically ghosted. It's astounding.
The quality of the food is so outstanding it nearly offsets the hella subpar service — nearly. lol. If they ever fix the take-out system and overall customer service, this would be an easy 5-star spot. Until then, far from it!! Namaste!!

I’ve been to Copper Pot Indian Grill in Redondo Beach several times now, and every visit reminds me why I keep going back. It’s a small, slightly retro place near the beach — easy to miss if you’re not looking — but the food is consistently excellent and honestly some of the best Indian cooking in the South Bay.
On this visit, we started with two dishes I’ve come to rely on: the chicken tandoori and the Tandoori Lamb Chops. The chicken had that perfect smoky char that Copper Pot seems to nail every time, but the lamb chops were the real standout — juicy, succulent, and beautifully seasoned, with just the right balance of char and tenderness. I ordered one of their IPAs again (they usually have a solid craft option), and it paired perfectly with the tandoori spices.
For our mains, we stuck with a few of my favorites: murgh malai, tandoori roti, and the Copper Pot chicken biryani. And this time I added the Chettinad Mutton Curry, which turned out to be a fantastic choice. The mutton was tender, and the Chettinad spices had that slow-building warmth and depth that makes you want to go back for “just one more bite.”
The murgh malai was as buttery and smooth as always, and the roti was warm and soft — simple, but perfect for scooping up the sauce. The chicken biryani remained one of the best around: aromatic, well-layered, and not oily like some places make it.
One thing I always appreciate here is the service. It’s relaxed, friendly, and they remember repeat customers without making a big deal out of it. Combined with the cozy, beach-town vibe, it’s the kind of place where you can settle in and enjoy your meal without feeling rushed.
Copper Pot has become my go-to Indian restaurant in the area, and honestly, it’s worth the drive every time. I always leave thinking the same thing: this place never disappoints.

I've been ordering since 1 n half year from this restaurant.. the cashier woman is always so rude.. I placed an order throught uber eats but it was for this restaurant but still they're unable to take charge of anything or talk to uber eats about it instead she wants the customer to make a call to uber eats.. I used a 3rd party app but for what, for this restaurant right.. the other people there have always been polite and welcoming.. I loved the food there but since 2 times there are mistakes and the lady is really rude... never ordering or visiting this place again!...

I came here with some Indian colleagues and we all loved it. They have great flavors the place looked clean, but I didn't like the vibe for a restaurant.

I might order delivery from this restaurant, but I don't think I'll go back and sit there anytime soon.
The assistants are not attentive, the manager is doing the servers’ job, the cooks are overcooking the chicken.
Now the redeeming quality is the flavor. The food flavor of this restaurant is amazing. 5 of 5 on food.
This place needs 2 really good servers. They need to be trained and familiar with formal American dining and serving Americans. Then could be popping.
The place is adequately clean, the music is nice, but the terribly slow service ruins it all. Having the floor manager and the head chef act as server, food runner, and delivery expo is not ok.
Those are server jobs. Not manager and chef jobs.
I had to demand my check to leave. I asked 2 times and waited 15 minutes.
If I ask you for my check, I need it delivered to me IN under 5 min. This is your urgent priority. This is the most important task after food quality.
This is crucial to my review.
Now I consider this restaurant a delivery restaurant. The food is really that good that I’m not stopping, you just won’t find me dining inside.

I had called the owner and asked her what time the lunch buffet starts and she said “its on the website” arrogantly. I had been going to copper pot for the past year but I will never go in again. Absolutely rude and pathetic.

As always, Chef Taj never disappoints! 🙌
His magical hands create the most authentic South Indian dosa I’ve ever had — perfectly crisp, flavorful, and full of love. Honestly, you can hardly imagine finding this level of taste in the US!
Driving 40 miles (and even skipping Artesia) is totally worth it — every bite is pure joy and satisfaction.
Kudos to you, Chef Taj, for keeping the tradition alive and serving food that speaks straight to the heart. ❤️🍽️

I’m really upset with my experience at Copper Plate Indian Restaurant in Redondo Beach. We went there for my sister’s birthday, but it turned into a terrible evening. Flies were all over us the entire time. When we asked the staff if they had a fan or any solution, they blamed us, saying we “sat in the wrong place.” We were just trying to enjoy our meal and find a fix - they offered no help, only blame.
The food was below average at best. To top it off, the bill was higher than the prices listed on the menu. They never mentioned any price changes until we pointed it out. Even if it’s a small difference, it feels dishonest. When we politely raised the issue, we got more unnecessary blaming instead of an apology or resolution.
They completely ruined our evening. My sister and her family left upset. I will never go back.

Had a buffet today and found strings of hair in the lamb curry. When asked to the manager he is saying it is the Lamb’s hair. Seriously….. he gave me a discount . Well who needs discount… clearly that guy was starring at me like i have seen this before.. please look carefully for any of these things. Yuck never gonna go there again. Too bad

Ordered dinner on Diwali - I showed up an hour later for pick up and they didn’t process my order. Manager said they couldn’t begin processing the order until 5pm because it was a special despite website stating it’d be done in 30mins. I tried cancelling my order but manager reassured it’d be ready in 30min. Another 50 mins go by (while I’ve been in the restaurant with out 2 year old). The owner/manager failed to acknowledge or even make any comps for poor service and not following through on her word. She said “let’s not talk about being late you’re food is ready.”

I don’t think I’ve had a positive experience here before. The first time, I chose to do takeout and had a lot of food missing from my order. I called the restaurant, where they refused to make the missing food or give a refund. Still, I was willing to give this place another shot dining in—this was a mistake. As another reviewer has said, the service was “spectacularly slow” and FOH staff was quite rude. Food is okay at best.
