“We stopped by Hennessey’s in downtown Manhattan Beach for a casual breakfast and really enjoyed the relaxed, neighborhood feel. The outdoor patio is spacious and great for people-watching—we sat at a high table and took in the view of people walking their dogs, heading to the beach, or grabbing coffee. It’s in such a prime spot, and the vibe was easygoing and welcoming.

The service was lovely—our server was friendly, helpful, and happy to accommodate my request to modify the avocado toast (removing bacon and egg). The toast came with potatoes and worked for a light bite, though I would’ve loved a bit more seasoning. My husband had the spinach omelet with coffee, and I got a fresh-squeezed half-orange, half-grapefruit juice that was refreshing.

They also host live music in the weekend and Monday night trivia, which I imagine brings a fun crowd in the evenings. It seems like a true local favorite. We found parking easily across the street since it was early.

“I’ve always wanted to see the turtle racing! I loved it, and April, the turtle vet was really cool and told me all about how they take care of the turtles. Be aware, I showed up and I felt like the oldest person there! (I’m 42) This is a college kid night and if you’re down for that energy, it’s really fun.“
