Aah so Delicious! Fresh yummy Sushi. I am very glad I gave it a try, we tried a bunch of items and it did not disappoint. Also they have their own smoked soy sauce that’s a hit. The food did take some times to come out. Cant wait to come back.

Really enjoyed this place. Their smoked soy sauce is to die for. We even bought two bottles to take home. They gave us samples of each of the sakes so we could decide which one we wanted. Definitely coming back! The bumblebee roll is amazing! They have happy hour in the evening as well! 3 to 6pm weekday and 4 to 6 weekends.

Awesome awesome awesome! We loved everything with just one exception that was more personal preference. Quality of food was high. Tastes were unique. Crispy rice we had never had before. Totally see why this is a five star meal!

Japonica was a pleasant, casual restaurant in downtown El Segundo. There is always good parking nearby and the restaurant staff were fun, casual, nice. The several appetizers were good that we ordered but these items are generally similar in quality in most sushi restaurants. We ordered a good amount of sushi which in most cases was adequate to average in taste and presentation. Asahi beers, on tap, as always are good alcoholic beverages for Japanese food.
We wanted sushi and didn't know where to go.... FOUND IT!!!!!! Total win and surprise!

First time at Japonica and went on a Monday night during happy hour. I made a reservation on Open Table and glad I did, it was busy! Service was fast and attentive along with the food being delicious and fresh. I'll be back for sure!

I enjoyed the nice happy hour items while walking to the beach to see the sunset and ended up full and surprised of all the items available. I had an outside table and the services was really fast and nice.

This was the first time I've eaten at Japonica and it's a keeper. We arrived at the tail end of happy hour and took advantage of the hot sake, chicken goyza, shrimp crunch roll and spicey tuna roll. On the regular menu we had the soft shelled crab and blue fin tuna sushi. It was all delicious. I left full and happy.

Haven't had anything here that isn't great. The ramen is phenomenal. We really like the mild with cilantro -- that lets you spice it up to your tolerance. The carpaccio trio sushi is amazing and the fried chicken appetizer has the perfect balance of sweet and spice. They provide a delicious smoked soy sauce, but many of their sushis and rolls come with sauces that are better. So buy a bottle and take it home. Pick up a 4-pack of their rice lager while you're at it -- it's brewed by the talented people at El Segundo Brewing, who are across the street from their El Segundo site. The kids menu options are very generous, feeding an appetite up to a typical 10 year old. And if the kid is still hungry, the service is super-quick, so you can add on to your order.
