Food is mid, almost no flavor. It’s not table service, you use a computer to place your own order. Counter staff was nice though. Had high expectations….ultimately disappointed.

Nice little Ramen spot. Nice workers and a bonus they have a soda machine which to me is better then getting handed a can of soda like most Ramen places do. Also never too crowded so just show up and eat right away.

This was a crazy surprising place. The portion and pork was huge and super tasty. I'm a little in shock, I think I found a soild ramen place.
The broth was wonderfully thick with almost perfect thin noodles. Way to go.

As a local, I am absolutely mad for this place -- I wouldn't call them a traditional ramen stop, but I also feel like that's their strength. I do love a good tonkotsu ramen, and they definitely have it; I keep coming back for the curry up ramen option, though, which is flavorful and just the right amount of spicy. No matter which protein I choose, I'm always happy: I tend omnivorous, and have never been unhappy with their perfectly marinated firm tofu option when I go meatless. (The pork and the chicken meatballs are also winners, but tofu often gets a bad rep as flavorless. This one isn't.) Their gyoza are delicious no matter which option you choose, and I love that I can get garlic edamame as a starter here.
I have yet to eat in, though I love the atmosphere when I walk through the door: the indoor and outdoor seating are both clean and look comfort an enough for a meal. I've found the staff to be friendly and helpful, never had a single bad thing from the kitchen, and overall love the takeout and delivery experience. (The packaging for go ramen is really clever, too, and keeps noodles + toppings separate from the broth while keeping it in one container, which making it easy to drop in once the food is home.)
I love this place and their food. In an area absolutely swimming with good ramen restaurants, Kotsu definitely worth your time to try!

We were staying in Lomita for a week and ramen is usually our go-to meal when traveling because of how light it is. We have a favourite ramen place in San Jose that has such good vegan options so much so that we even went to Japan and no ramen ever came close to their (San Jose's) quality and taste....up until now. We went on a weekday and got the Tonyu Curry Up! (Vegan) and it was DIVINE!!!! The braised veggies were *chef's kiss* and the broth was extremely well flavored. Vegan options everywhere else are mostly miso based or very watery but Kotsu and Chef Diego really make you feel seen and cared for by putting just as much (if not more) effort into crafting their vegan dishes. Not only was it a treat for our palettes but also our hearts cos we found an amazing friend in our host Shalini, whose family runs the place. She was so warm and fun and kind that it made us want to go back twice in a row. She even went above and beyond to help me customize the order as per my tastes. Only absolute sweethearts found here :))
Kotsu was easily one of the highlights of our trip and we cannot wait to go back and try more of their vegan options!

Food is great the tonkotsu broth is amazing. The chashu is cooked incredibly perfect not undercooked like some places or too thin. Vegan options too. I lucked out having a solid ramen shop just down the block from my home.

This is a cool noodle spot on PCH just east of Prospect. They have different broth options and proteins and as well as some very tasty apps including octopus balls which not that many placed seem to offer. I love the katsu kick and I go full send and delux that bad boy for some extra mean and fixins. The service is quick and friendly, order in front, person or tablet and then they bring your food to the table. The prices are reasonable and the flavor of the broth is incredible. The interior has cool decor and goes over the background of the food and roots of the restaurant concept. This place is better than other similar offerings.. I have been here tons of times and I won't stop.

Not the best ramen I’ve had, especially for the price. Pretty heavy on the corn. Place was clean.
Simple, good food. Order at the counter and grab a seat. We found vegetarian options here so that made us very happy! One interesting ramen option was matcha flavored ramen which was innovative and excellent. We will be back!

in love with this ramen, the vegan broth is so robust and the veggies are always fresh! although I get vegan broth I still add the pork chashu and I love how crispy it is, the flame has the perfect level of spice for me. love bringing all my friends and family here. Thanks for the excellent service and consistency ☺️

I have been consistently impressed with the quality and quantity of food here. Super happy that they have a separate vegan menu and it’s really good. The prices are more than fair considering the large portion sizes. Service is always very friendly and it’s never packed, surprisingly.

If you need a nice hot bowl of Ramen to fill you up, this spot deserves checking out. It's fusion-y, not really authentic Japanese (not that I'd be the best judge of that), but it's usually a satisfying meal. I don't love their rice bowls as much.
The place has a few tables for dine-in, but it's pretty basic, don't go here for a first date.
